It appears Moore's Law was a bit optimistic. According to that, we should have had 3.3GHz machines in the late '90s. Profit-driven delays in release at Intel and AMD perhaps.

Actually, there was a "Revised Moore's Law" which accounted for a gradual decline in the effects of the original law. It cam about sometim around the middle-late '90s According to that one, we're about on target.

lol apple doesn't count. It was completely intergrated. It didn't go on like the IBM revolution where the engineering was changed so you can change out any part in any non apple computer

But i remember the old intergrated 386. Hell the casino slot machines over here use a 286 for there graphics :P
