If young people really watched the news, the ads every night at 10:00 wouldn't just be for people who can't chew, can't digest, can't stop going to the bathroom, can't achieve an erectlon and are clinically depressed.

Well folks. Lets get beyond the Bush and Kerry bashing and try to realize one thing. It is a tough job to run the Executive Branch of the Federal Government of the United States of America. It is a pretty awesome responsibility to run for a position that is as big as the office of the President of the United States. Most people that are attacking President Bush and are bitter towards him have never managed anything bigger than their checkbook in their life. I admit I did not like Bill Clinton when he was President but I should have looked back on what my parents taught me and had a different attitude towards the man. My father was an officer in the US Army. Our cars had a special sticker that indicated we could enter the base and it also indicated my father's rank. One day my mother was driving the car and the soldier saluted my mother. I asked my dad why the guard would salute mom and he said, "Those soldiers were not saluting your mom, they were saluting the rank displayed on the car.” As I look back on my career at SLMA I realize that what my father taught me applied not only to Politicians, Police Officers and Military Personnel, it also applied to my work environment. I may not like my boss or my boss’s boss, but I have to respect the position and the authority that the position holds. I may not have liked Bill Clinton as the President of the United States, but I should have respected the office of which he held a bit more than I did while he was president.

Now in a country that has been so polarized on issues, we have done our country a disservice. Just because our team (political persuasion or candidates) does not win a particular election, it doesn’t mean we have free license to become bitter and go on the attack. The thing that makes our country great is the fact that we can disagree and not take to the streets in bloodshed. Our government changes ever 2-4 years. We see politicians, parties, ideologies and issues come and go. But no one man or woman is the reason for the success of this great nation. I personally think that both candidates have been slandered and attacked mercilessly. I think these attacks should stop. Not only should these attacks stop from the PAC’s, 527 groups, but also from the common citizens of this country. If you personally don’t like either of these candidates, you don’t have to. Vote for the candidate that will best represent your needs and allow these candidates to run a campaign centered on the issues. These hate groups have turned the American Political process into a petty High School popularity contest.
