Obviously you've never been to California or Southern Phoenix.

Yes, I would there rather be one. Oh wait, there is one. The Immigration Act of 1917 overruled prior presidential vetoes against mandating English literacy tests as a part of the immigration process. The act was later modified by the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, which didn't modify the existing prerequisite of a literacy test.ScorchedNX2K wrote:Why does it piss you off...that other people and companies have the right to speak whatever language they choose? How is this affecting you in a negative way? There is no law stating that you must speak and write English...would you rather there be one?Ace2cool wrote: Funny thing is, THAT IS A LAW! It's part of the basic immigration procedures. You MUST pass a literacy exam before you can become a naturalized citizen of the United States. Yet there are billboards that have ONLY SPANISH on them 3 miles down the road from where I sit typing this message right now. Burger King's soda machine has a banner that is in only Spanish. It's getting ridiculous, and is pissing me off.
this. call me a bad latino, but the fact that march is latin american history month means nothing to me. i am well aware of some of the major impacts latinos have made to current america, but you know what i call it? AMERICAN history. and i recognize that s*** every day, not 1/12th of the year. things like latin american history month and black history month do nothing but continue to keep americans of different races segregated from each other.Mr1der wrote:why didn't they have special jerseys in February then?Chaotic_Warlord wrote:Maybe March is Latin American History Month?
oooooohhhh yeahh.....
that's so most viewers wouldn't be too confused. can you imagine landing on a channel and seeing "el calor" vs. "los cohetes" (heat vs. rockets)?Chaotic_Warlord wrote:Anyone else think it's funny that the jerseys are in Spanglish? Half English, Half Spanish.
