Went to crank my car today, and it idled kinda rough, so I was looking around in the engine bay, because I installed a catch can the other day, and had to relocate the dropping resistor a little.....so I lookeded at the wiring on it, and noticed one of the wires had pulled loose from where it attaches to the dropping resistor itself. I said no biggy, so I turned off the engine, unplugged the dropping resistor, and took it over to the work bench and soldered the wire back to the prong....took it back over and plugged it back into the wiring harness. When I went to crank the engine.....it wouldn't fire, just turn over I don't know what happened, but I must of just made it worse somehow. The metal body/cover sparked a little when I went to re-mount it....but I don't see how that could of messed it up. I'm sure it was my solder job.Anyway, looks like I need a new one....are these the same as one from a ca18de Pulsar? I would like to get a new one if possible, but if they aren't avail in the U.S., looks like I'll have to settle for a used one.....anyone got one or know where I can get one?

The pulsar with the ca16de motor in it has one, not the ca18de. I think the ca18de injectors are high imp. correct me if I'm wrong. Also if you can find a dsm in a local junkyard that car has them. It is located on the firewall about in the middle.

So the ca16de then....any year? Also, is it a direct plug and play....and can it be bought at any parts store, or dealer only item? What needs to be done to make a dsm one work? What year/ model dsm one will work? Thanks

For the ca16de, it is a direct plug and play. I'm not for sure what year ca16de. I want to say late 80's model. For the dsm resistor pack you have to cut and splice. Once you do that here is the how-to for the dsm resistor pack.

So, what year/ model dsm? I would assume probably anything with a 4g63 in it....eclipse, laser, talon? 1st gen, 2nd gen.....does it matter?

I went the long road and got mine from Nissan Japan directly lol, took 2 1/2 weeks but it's cool to have a brand new one.
