Ok so here is how i did my start button and interior cabin lights. Its very simple and easy all you need is a screw drive and the lights. You car is already wired and ready to go.
use a small screw drive and be carefull not to scrath you ****.
on the dash where the start button is there are 2 entry points, use the screw driver gently to pry the unit:
[IMG][/IMG]
once out you can see these entry points better so heres a pic to help:
[IMG][/IMG]
once the unit is out look for a clamp release that seperats the whole unit from the dash wires it looks like this:
[IMG][/IMG]
once out you can seperate the unit from the wires and see the three pices. the button, the chrome shroud, and the starter unit. there are 2 more clamp release's on each side that will separate the starter (brown) from the shroud:
[IMG][/IMG]
this is the starter:
[IMG][/IMG]
and again just pluged in by itself, you can see the orange illumanate when you turn you lights on:
[IMG][/IMG]
here are the shroud and button:
[IMG][/IMG]
now take your blue start button from a g35:
[IMG][/IMG]
plug in and test:
[IMG][/IMG]
now reasemble back together. the best way to do this is diconect the starter and piece back together the button, the shroud and the starter then connect the wires. now your done:
[IMG][/IMG]
now here is how i did my cabin lights. im curently have three, but ill show you how to do one and you could figure it out from there.
you will need this light for this retro fit it has one blue and one yellow wire:
[IMG][/IMG]
it has 2 prongs that will be used they look like:
[IMG][/IMG]
first remove gently with a screwdriver the main center roof mount at these 2 entry points:
[IMG][/IMG]
it will look like this. the first slot on the botton left is already cut and fitted for the light. all you have to do is remove the black felt blocking it off. you can retro fit the other to slots to hold 2 more lights if you'd like:
[IMG][/IMG]
now remove the 2 map lights on both sides, they have four clamps holding them in, 2 on each side of each light.
[IMG][/IMG]
now remove the white inroof mout using a screw drive at these four points:
[IMG][/IMG]
once pulled down it looks like:
[IMG][/IMG]
use a screwdriver to release the wire clamp from the white unit so you can pull the whole unit out (you will notice the blue and yellow wires that dont go to anything. that because you car is already pre wired.:
[IMG][/IMG]
now plug in the light to the coresponding slots on the oposite side:
[IMG][/IMG]
on the white unit there are clamps to hold these blue and yellow wire in place so there are not just hanging around. just feed the wires through the track.
replace the whit unit back in place with the light hangin out.
test the light.
clamp the light to the lower left hand spot.
[IMG][/IMG]
replace the map lights then the center unit, and now you are done. to do more than one light you have to splice all three lights together and then mount the into the other 2 slots, for a final effect of:
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
if anyone is interested i can do some reserch here at my dealership and see if i can optain these lights and starters. i dont see why not, but worse comes to worse i have a few extra of the cabin lights i can probly sell.
but yeah thats about it, if you got questions or if this write up sucks let me know.
