Thanks LBC but not what I asked. I'm not looking to get this done by surmanm, I'm looking for a step by step tutorial with pictures on how to do this.

And really??? I keep seeing posts all over this site saying they are blue with either yellow or orange on the "ENGINE" light.

Hey Mike -

This modification is done by changing the surface-mounted LEDs inside of the button. It requires solder work and a very steady hand - it is not typically a DIY mod unless you're well versed in working with wiring/soldering. As for a how-to on doing that - google is your best bet. This was a "trade secret" of sorts for Surman and was never really openly discussed much further than this. Sorry we couldn't help too much further regarding that.

If you simply want the start button to be changed, one option is the GT-R start button, which you can order from any Nissan parts website. I'm not sure what color the illumination is for any Infiniti start buttons, but it is possible to order the part from any dealership. They'll run you around $50, and luckily, they're very easy to install on the Altima. Shout back if you have any other questions.

EDIT: here is the link to the GT-R button posting on our forum. There aren't any pictures, but there is a rough summary on how it's done. This is probably the easiest mod I have ever done on my car. Took me about 15 minutes.

Google brought me here, couldn't find anything else so I decided to ask, thanks though I really appreciate your help!

Can anyone with an Infiniti confirm that their start button is blue? Lol so sick of that orange all over my car.

Again, the Infiniti Start/Stop button does NOT light up blue. Read.

Here's pictures..

Google image search, find the same thing. We have said a few times now. It's the same part number from the Altimas. SAME BUTTON.

That picture doesn't really prove anything, it's not lit up. By the posts in this thread, I'm led to believe that some Infinitis' start buttons light up blue.. For example...

"now take your blue start button from a g35"

"The infiniti start button is a much "softer" blue than Mikes is."

"yeah my bad i did some reserch and the start button is off a 2008 EX35. the other modles are blue and yellow, however; the ex35 is blue and orange."

I'm not trying to say you don't know what you're talking about or anything like that, I've just read numerous times that there are Infinitis with blue and orange or yellow lights and I want to get the facts. Thanks for your help though! Much appreciated! :dblthumb:

EDIT://

I found a YouTube video that shows the blue button on an EX35 :woot:
