write-up: How to wire JDM sidemarkers *pics*

wtf are you speaking of, the half amber bumper lights? they are wedge-type bulbs available anywhere.

if you watch his video, the white wedge bulb is on, and the larger amber bulb blinks, i inverted my wires so it does the opposite, i was asking if something like this is what he used to have a more powerful light, as mine is barely noticeable with the ambers on

brighter led wedges like you said. you purposely wired them backwards? like the lights on an fd rx-7, right?

i cant remember how they look on a FD right now, im googling them, but yea i think something like thatall the LED lights they sell at autozone/pep boys suck ***, they create far less light then the ones i had on be4, btw if you look closely, i think u can see the cutoff where the amber lights are on and the white lights are off

194 bulbs will never be brighter than 1147 (IIRC). switch them back.

194's are the only ones u can fit into the side markers, i dnno which ones the 1147's are though

in the jdm sidemarkers you have 2 bulbs. 194 (parking light) 1147 (turning signals)in your case, you have them wired backwards so the 194 acts as turning signals and 1147 acts like parking lights. what i was saying was those 194 are meant to be used as parking lights. no matter what 194 bulbs you get, it will never be as bright as the 1147.

Can you put 168 bulbs in the sidemarkers? Or does the added load put the wiring at risk?

o opsi was speaking bout the white turn signal, yea i know theres 2 bulbs there loll

but if u look at the video adrian posted, the white parking lamp is fairly bright

I tried this How to with my USDM sidemarkers and they work great. Its more of a saftey feature for me. Plus it looks good.

this thread confuses the s14 guys...

i wish my bumper turn signal stays on like the s13's and i can use the corner lights to make it blink

Can someone confirm if this will work with an S14? I'd like to do this mod, but don't want to start snipping wires like a moron.

didnt read the whole thread, but it should work fine. Just think of the green wire as your positive on your turn signals. all the black as grounds. I'm gonna try this asap.

sorry, i know its an old thread.. but i must say its a great write up. quick question though, my driver's side (left side) sidemarker doesn't work but my right side does. if i do this mod, will that somehow enable my left sidemarker to work?

thread bump!!! KILLER WRITE UP!! read this and got excited so went outside n did one side... gonna do the whole car this way...i LOVE mods like this that r free and easy yet unique... kinda like sleepy eyes..
