Insted of cutting the green wire couldent u just use a clamp on wire tap/ splice?Havent done this mod befor but if u could it would make things look neater and would better protect the wires from moisture and crosion.

PS. Solder and heat shrink FTW.

im pretty sure itll work that way. if i was able to do it over id prefer to do that over cutting my oem harness.

and yes ... solder and heatshrink FTW.

i did this today and blew out my 15 amp taillight fuse for some reason. if your lights stop working thats what happened, replace it.

I took my fuse out while doing the work :-)

But, I actuatly put the black into the red instead of the other way and the blinder light would stay solid when the lights were on..

Fixed that in like 2 seconds :-)

I charged up my camera and will hopeflly get some pictures of a slightly cleaner install :-)

so when you have the headlights on, the blinker lights stay on as well? i just did this on my S14 and was wondering how to do that.

It was a problem, the signal wouldnt work..

But, with the writeup when your lights are off, all 3 lights will blink together..

When the lights are ON, then the one of front, and the one in the back will ALTERNATE WITH the sidemarker..

Really cool effect, check the video

Cool write up! Is there anyway you can make bumper and side marker ALTERNATE all the time regardless of the parking lights lit or not? Just curious.

ya you can if you use a relay. it is a PITA though. just drive with your parking lights on during the day and that'll make it alternate.

it may be easier but dont ghetto it by using connectors. you dont HAVE to solder it but at least heat shrink it ...

Googled and ran into this thread.

http://www.clubsmartcar.ca/for...01083

I searched and someone mentioned using 555 timer(?) to make them blink alternate all the time. I really want that way.

you could use the butt conectors with heat shrink on them. butt connectors are supposedly better than soldiering because they dont damage the surrounding wiring, and are a stronger longer lasting hold. just what iv read...

Uh.... adrian's write up shows how to make side markers blink. JDM markers and half amber half clears are plug and play, but side markers still won't blink. If dim light is on, front amber turn signal and side markers blink alternate. If not, they blink at the same time. Check this video out, you will know what he did.

Or am I missing something here?

but anyway, adrian, i was wondering where u got the bulb for the white section of the turn signal, mine is weak as hell, so i flipped em, and the yellow/amber part is on and the white is my blinker, but no one notices it on
