would this be a decent drifter?

Nissan dominates the drift scene - Always has, always will.

I am stereotyping but...

15 year old? 1st car?

sorry, you can't handle it and you are doomed to crash it wihtin the 1st year of ownership most likely.

I recommend drive a stock fwd, modify , then move to stock rwd, then modify it

yeah, sure you got to drive a z. congrats....doesn't mean you know how to drive one...second of all....you need more than just a few years in driving. Try 10 years, then think about hardcore drifting

you DONT know how to handle a car, no matter what you think. unless you have a license and some sort of professional driving instruction or track time, you dont really know how a car is going to react to certain situations. I'm not saying I know more than you, only saying that I actually know I don't know.

Aside from that, sure, that car will be fine, as long as it has a diff. My first car was a 65 mustang, has more power than any stock 240 with worse handing, i never crashed, as long as you don't drive like a jack ***, you don't get into accidents that are your fault, it comes down to the driver, not the car that will get you into trouble, and with your attitude, you are doomed to wreck this car, hopefully it was just a little overenthusiasm over the internet, or you come to realise that you don't know how to drive well and take it easy on the road.

this is WAAAAAAAAY too much car for you, MY car is too much for you, wait what am I saying, the state has decided that ANY car is too much for you, hence your lack of a license.

I would want to start from stock and move up. Also its very good possibility you wreak your first car. I wreaked mine drifting. Sounds like to nice of a car to mess up.

most of what im going to say has already been said but im gonna say it anyway, and try not to be mean like you vultures

you dont need that car. no matter how much driving experience you think you have, you have never been on a racetrack or drifted before. so do not think you can handle anything.

the CAR does not make the DRIVER. meaning sure the car looks good on paper, but whoever is controlling it makes it do its magic. so for the love of god dont buy a car because it looks like a good drift car. ANYTHING RWD can drift. its all based on drivers ability as to how well it drifts.

my advice would be to get 2 vehicles. a daily driver, and a project car. dont buy a pre-built car.

amen kamin, that's how i've always done it. it comes in handy when you're in between a motor swap or any kind of big job, and you still need to drive around.

18 inch rims... on a drift car? you don't need that.... Dude listen to me please... Buy two cars... one that you use to drive around and put all of that bling stuff on... and get a cheap *** beater 240sx with a VLSD in it and drift with that STOCK! don't do any mods just drift really hard with it... you don't need a fancy car to drift just a good driver... The only way to become a good driver is pratice... and the only way to pratice and get good at it is to do it without fear of crashing your baby.... if you crash your $400 240... big deal... if you crash a car you put $10,000 into... you will cry... it will be painful and you will have your drifting mindset ruined... I saw that guy on Formula D.. dam forget his name now... but he drives the Yellow GTO.. he crashed his car in pratice and after that his drifting sucked because he was scared to crash again...

you want a good first car.. start like i did, 2nd gen Talon/Eclipse RS i modded the hell out of mine till i got sick of FWD.. then i got my 240... you never KNOW how to control your car, it's all about knowing your vehicle's limitations imo. I'm still learning the limits of my s13 and ive had it almost 6 months now.

For one, what use is a GReddy intercooler if the car is not turbocharged? Do you know what intercoolers do?

evoh26, wat they are telling you is the truth, they are not bashing on you, put it this way all the stuff you said almost sound like a D1 car but without all the sponserd stickers, the car can drift so can a FC, SUPRA,300ZX,S14,S15,SKYLINES,ae86, I MEAN I CAN GO ON WITH MORE, ITS ALL ABOUT THE DRIVER. you can get a decent 240 maybe a s13 for like 1000 to 2000 bucks, get a 200 $ vlsd, maybe some used coilovers for like 300 or more $, a exhaust, and some rims, and have a good nice car to learn how to drift good. you might crash you might not , but dont spen alot of money ifyou dont know wat to do when you go out and drift , cuz you will crash your car. plus you missed alot off things that are more important , like rear subframe bushings, tie rods, tie rod ends, tension rods, if you ganna get ans14 (95 and up models), thats like a 4000$ and up, even stock, i would cry if i crashed it. start will something cheap, unless your not poor like me.lol

we dont hate you, you are just misguided. it has nothing to do with your choice of car, it has to do with you are inexperienced in driving. that car is way over your head. period. you may think we are flaming you but we are saving you a TON of touble down the road. you are very young you have a lot to learn. listen to these people. we have been around for a while, we know how it works.

and as for reporting someone who flames you to a mod, we watch these threads, once they get out of hand we step in. this thread is NOwhere near being out of hand. so relax and dont take everything so personally.

oh boy, you have alot to learn. We are just telling you the truth. I drive a stock 96 240 and i know my limits. And unlike you... I don't thing i am the god of driving. Trust me a 240 is a totally different animal. Buy a 240, but wait to mod it until later, like if doing. Learn the car first, then start modding. But to answer your question, yes a 96 240 drifts good, as does any 240 with an lsd.

BTW, i'm 16

Get this car with those mods, and then "screw around" with your friends and you're the perfect victim of "the cycle". What's "the cycle"?

Buy 240 -> Screw around with friends -> get pulled over for screwing around -> insurance goes up -> brag about new mods on nico -> screw around some more -> wreck car screwing around -> post pics of wrecked car in nico gen chat -> part car out in nico classifieds -> become another pwned teen that thought he was invincible and it could never happen to him.

Take the advice man...

I don't bash on newbs like most do so i'm just going to say this:

If you are asking if an S-14 is a good drift car, you are already doomed.
