i went to them to get my rb20 and they gave me the wrong ecu, they corrected it no problem though. i feel really bad for you but i think the only way you will get a decent experience with them is if you REALLY inspect everything and know your s*** when you go there. to me they seem like way more of honda guys and when i was talkin to them about nissan stuff they didn;t seem very educated. hopefully it all works out for you man. bring it back and just demand another engine cause i don;t even think a rb20 head would fit on the 25. what does the stamp on the block say? did you get a rb25 transmission from them?

I got my rb20 from them, the first one they sent me looked mint. Started it up and it had bad rings + a blown head gasket. Sent me another one, and this one still runs, it's alright though. They said it had 150 psi across the board... 135-140 is more like it. The ecu they sent was f***ed, said it wasn't covered in the warrenty even though the motor wouldn't start without it... what a joke. As everyone says, just fork out the extra few hundred and get a good one.

Wait a minute I though that Rb20 and 25 head was not interchangeable. Cause RB25 has bigger combustion chamber.

But rb20 head on rb25 block. Wouldn't that raise the compression ratio? something you dont want on forced feed motor

i think you have a rb20. its stamped on the block. check the driverside of the block next to the transmission. there is a little machined area with the stamp.

This is why you don't wait more than 1 day to tear into a motor to see what kind of health it is in. Its your own fault for not taking initiative to see what kind of compression, leak down test and the state of the coolant and oil paths.

We just ordered a VG30DETT from them with "low miles" and it had great compression, but the motor had stop leak ran through the cooling system and it was super nasty. We talked to them, sent them some pictures and dealt with everything civil. Now we've got the motor sent back and another on the way.

Waiting is the WORST thing you can do when you get a new motor in. If you don't have time to tear into it, don't buy it until you do.

first off screw you smart a** if you were at the warehouse when i purchASED my motor setyou would understand the guy i dealt with was madd shady he even glued the valve cover on in front of me and convinced me it had "fallen off" which i should of never bought but i figured a MUTLI MILLION DOLLAR COMPANY WOULD NOT SCREW ME LIKE THAT and i am completly convinced the knew the condition of my motor prior to me buying it so unless you dealt with them like i did you wouldnt understand those scumbags cond me into to buying that motor, they figuring i would of never knew

damn bro. hope everything gets straightened out...

I was just talking about situations like this over the weekend. People selling swaps just to make money and TRYING to rip people off, if they can get away with it.

I was going to buy my rb from those guys too a few weeks back, ended up changing my mind.
