I seem to puncture myself breaking stuff loose.

Was using an 18" breaker bar to get the water passage plugs out of the top of an rb26 head next to the spark plugs. Had the head on a table braced up against my torso pulling on the breaker bar with all my strength. the plug came loose and i punctured the back of my elbow below my triceps deep on one of the protruding tabs the valve cover sits on. It hurt a lot, right between the funny bone and ligaments.

last weekend i broke the tension on a tie rod nut and the wrench smacked me in the face

but the best lul moment

i was doing something silly on the 240; and i needed a screwdriver which was in my basement; (idk why it was in the basement)

so running full force down my basement steps, i jumped off the third step.

now my house is old, so its got low hanging beams..... i jumped into a 2x6 beam; and then fell on my back

had a 2 inch gash on my head and had to go to the ER to get patched up.

lesson learned.

dont run and jump inside; im not five anymore

dude, no offense but i laughed out loud picturing that in my head.

i guess for a legit 240 injury, the most memorable one was working on removing the spark plugs from a ka. not a hard task but these ones were in there so good most of them cracked in half and crumbled upon being removed. one was really tight, but when it came loose, my knuckles somehow smashed across the lettering on the valve cover. it was the dead of winter and stuff like that to your hands really sting. the only part that makes this memorable is that i was fixing the car up since someone wanted to buy it and i sold it with my blood on the vc.

normally when i cut myself or something typical i just wrap it with duct tape and keep on going

well.. new story..
today i was taking out the subfram support brackets... the one bolt's head broke off. so i drilled into it and used an easy out. and the easyout broke off. i got pissed and proceeded to toss the wrench in the air and it decided to hit me in the nose... bled like crazy... and i still dont know how to remove that stupid bolt.

That is very true i do the same thing. One of the worst that has happen to me has to be the metal shavings in the fingers and having to go to the ER for that. Then there is the pain of the doctor using a box cutter (literally what it looked like) and sliced into my thumb without numbing it first (because i didnt want to wait any longer  )

Other than that my skin cracks and dries out after working on cars for awhile, whether its the grease or the soap idk lol. :bowrofl:

1) electrocuted myself: I forgot exactly wtf I was doing, but i was using a breaker bar somewhere around the cold side of my engine, and the end part of the breaker bar touched a battery terminal. The shock melted a part of the titanium ring my gf gave me, which also fuzed my skin to the ring. Pulling the ring out ripped a chunk from my finger.... lulz

2) hit myself in the head pretty bad with a breaker bar: I was under my car trying to remove my axels, and while using the breaker bar, the end attachment wasn't fully seated on the bolt, and will all my force it just caused me to smack myself really hard on the side of my forehead. I went to work the next day with a golf ball sized bump on my head... this happened like a year and a half ago... I still have a little bump because of the scarred tissue

I was torquing down a bolt one time when one of the wrench tips literally exploded and a huge chunk of metal shot into my left-middle finger.

It was numb until I just grabbed the piece of metal and pulled it out of my hand. THEN it hurt like hell.

my worst was probably when my ignition switch went. while i was waiting for the part to arrive, i had to hotwire my car by using a bent piece of wire. made the mistake trying to do it in the dark one night and touched the wrong contact points together. burnt my finger horribly with the shape of the wire and the wire melted to my carpet when i dropped it. lesson learned for that one :tisk:

The worst thats happened to me is when i had headers installed. After a decent drive i popped my hood to check something to the right of my headers. The top of my hand touched them and burned like hell. The aftermath, nothing bad but this is 4 years later:

So, I was having a hard time getting to the lower engine mount nuts. I was laying under the car, and decided I needed to use some swivels. Well, I was using 1/2", and ended up with a swivel, a 10"(around there) extension, and then another swivel on that..so it had some weight behind it lol. Well, I was on my back looking up with the ratchet lined up with my face..probably the first bad idea. For some reason I wanted to reposition everything, so I went to pull the ratchet down, and I guess it caught on something but the whole thing came off, 2 swivels, extension and socket, when I moved it and it fell almost a foot and hit me in the mouth. Knocked a few teeth loose and cut up my lips lol

better story after thinking... was tightening my camber bar to subframe with an air ratchet... it tightened and it smacked me in the face...

lesson: always stand behind the air ratchet.

I was installing a transmission on an s13. I was laying under it with it on my chest, reached my hand inside the transmission to see if the input shaft was lined up with the pilot bushing with my middle finger, the transmission fell and my middle finger slid between the teeth on the pressure plate. It tore into both sides of my finger pretty bad, lucky I had some hydros with me, took them and let it heal on it own. Probably needed stitches... I have no feeling in the tip of my middle finger. oh well.

That's the most recent. I'm sure there's worse. I've had this car forever.

Last winter i helped a friend with his 2jzgte swap into a 240sx. The worst part about it, it was 20 degrees in Texas(simply cold as hell for Texans). Shortly after freezing my balls to death. I'm standing over the strut towers like a monkey holding the engine and guiding it down. The moron tightens the valve to hard and when he goes to release it the whole transmission and motor fall down about a foot smashes the condenser, it explodes i'm stuck because my shoe got caught with the transmission. The fool runs out the shop leaving me to die from r134 gases all in my system. I get free my lungs start to burn i'm sure that incident lost me about 10 years of my life so i f*** his gf in the a** a month later. Never talked to that joker again.
