Hello,

I didn't bother to search because surely no one has ever seen the movie that I'm about to comment on........

I work at Target while in school and I noticed that we were selling a bunch of budget movies (I'm talking $5.99 budget movies). Well, one of them was called "Redlined" and it featured a Celica GT-S and a 300ZX TT on the cover duking it out. I turned it over and read the back and thought that it looked all right. Keep in mind, the back said that the movie was about two rival gangs vying for control of the town through intense car races.....

"......where the all wheel drive two liter terrors seperate the men from the boys......" or something to that affect.

Anyway, the short of this is that the movie was absolutely aweful. It takes place in Australia and doesn't really feature any cars OR rival gangs. Just horrible acting, a horrible script and TERRIBLE sound editing.

The main character's car (I still never learned what his name was supposed to be) is a Jap spec RHD S14 Silvia with a body kit and some vinyl graphics. His second in command drives an S13 Silvia, black with two lime green racing stripes. That's it. Boom. Those are the only cars in the movie, with the exception of a 67 Camero SS (also RHD) and a crappy old Porshe 928.

Has anyone else seen this movie? I'll stop here unless someone wants to hear more. There is one good scene though. The S13 knocks this guy over with the rear quarter panel while performing a boot leg turn (on purpose). Then the "boss" revs his engine in the S14 and proceeds to slowly run over the guys legs. It makes more sense if you've seen it.

Any takers? I'll go and on about it................

Lastly, how about this for a one-liner: A midget at a strip/sex club is escorting the 2nd in command to a drug deal of some sort and accidently bumps into a hooker's crotch while walking around a corner. Her line "Hey, we have to stop meeting like this."

Terrible.

Lol,

NismoDave.............It's a terrible movie and even the Silvias don't make it better. In fact, they make it worse because they're in the movie........it just discraces the cars. Shoulc you decide to ignore my warnings, watch out for the $h!t talk that the lead detective makes about the S14........

"I bet Martians came down and shot up your car because they thought it was a spaceship."

That, in reference to the body kit and wing the guy has. Not to be outdone, the "tough" guy in the Camero claims:

"That's just a plastic piece of $h!t" and then takes off in a burst of craptacular wheelspin.

Terrible.

i was surprised how much the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" sucked. It had some nice cars, but the acting was aweful, the direction needed...well...direction, and the plot was so misconstrued I was lost within 5 minutes.

I think the worst one has been Initial D Extra or Final Stage ( i forget which is the side story), but not the side story, I mean the one where they just summarize the series.

that's extra stage (which i also don't like). side story you mean Battle Stage. I LOVE the battle stage. I hope that 4th stage has even better graphics

Yeah, I saw it a few months ago, my friend was stupid enough to buy it, I was almost stupid enough to rent it. Burnin Bones? WTF?!?! They raped the Silvia with those stripies, absolutely awful, the blonde girl looked ugly, also the cop lady. Horrible script, plot, etc.. Im going to be the first to say that 2f2f is also one of the worst with the bad plot/script. BTW, I have been looking for the movie Thunderbolt, with jackie chan, made in 1995, i have been very unsuccessfull at finding this movie on kazaa. I saw the first 20mins on TNT/SPike, whatever its called, but I had to leave, someone help?

Do you remember the Target $5.99 DVD rack I mentioned? All the older Jackie Chan movies are on it. You might want to check that out. His best movie by far was the original Drunken Master. Damn that was good.

Hmmm. worst car movies ever, I can think of a few:

Fast nFurious. yes it appealed to teenagers, so I better put on my flame suit, but it the premise was dumb, dialogue was appalling, and the acting was lame. There were a few mildly interesting action sequences but not enough to save it from being a train wreckof a movie. I refused to subject myself to the sequel which I understand was worse

Smokey and the Bandit 2&3. The first one was almost watchable, but the second two were pathetic money grabs.

Cannonball Run series: It was a mildly interesting C&D article in the 70's, but it was pure bovine excremement as a movie. Very lame.

Days of Thunder: Tom "samarai scientologist" Cruise in a tacky bumper car farce of NASCAR. Set back auto racing 20 years.

Driven: Rocky Balboa in CART. Yo Adrian, what a stinker.

I'm sure there are plenty of others.

Ok by far the worst car movie ever was this movie called "Thrust". 1st of all its about an all girl car team tryin to win lame *** street races. It had fake car performance companies, seat covers(cuz they couldnt afford bucket seats), and many more things that were wrong. It had F&F phrases and the lamest car converstations.

Ok im not gonna lie it ended up jus being a porno.

Haha I bought that movie, and to answer a question asked earlier, the main character's name was Dymo. It is a bad movie, but I did watch it 3 times, thats how long it took to figure out what the freakin plot was. The only descent actor was the guy that played "Sparky" the mechanic w/ V8s. But atleast they tried to save it by having 2 chicks in the shower at the end, lol.

Here's a bit of trivia - that guy, actor Steve Bisley, was also the actor who played the mechanic in the original MAD MAX movie who built Max's evil black V8 Interceptor.

That wasn't a minitruck, it was a Holden UTE! I dunno if Yanks use that term, but it's short for "utility vehicle", pronounced "yoot".

The real car was called the "Autotek Beast" and was specifically built for winning burnout competitions. It can be seen HERE.

IMHO 2F2F was waaaay worse than F&F, which was bad enough. Less cool cars, worse story, same bad acting & dialog, and the races looked too CG'ed...

Damn!!

Interesting that you mentioned that scene! I thought it was odd/curious/dumb that the driver had enough time to undo his five point harness, AND his girlfriends with a second left over to duck down............but didn't have enough time to hit the breaks and come to a controlled stop?

Terrible.

I am dreading the release of Torque, I know it's not technically a car movie, but it's close enough. It looks like F&F for motorcycles :(
