well saturday night im leaving a party at about 11:50 cause i had to drop off a friend in BFE and i stop behind one girl at a stop sign. All of sudden i hear loud screeching and when i look into my rear view mirror BAM! some guy rear ends doing about 30. -________- i start cursing and screaming and get out of the car. when i reach the back of the car, my bumper is hanging kind of at an angle its all scratched up the license plate is bended into the bottom of the car and the exhaust sounds terrribbleee. so the cop gets there he gives the stupid guy the ticket. turns out the guy had SEVEN people in his 01 mitsubishi galant. that probably was the reason for the incredible whiplash i got.and to top it off his excuse was o i didnt see you stop. MIND YOU THE G35 BRAKE LIGHTS ARE BEYOND BRIGHT!!!! w,e i called my insurance and the car is going to be checked out tomorrow. im thinking he probably did around 1500 bucks worth of damage? the bumper is done for at least. then when i heard the exhaust i checked under the car. the guy hit me so hard the crash bar broke in half and was dented INTO my exhaust. wow. what a terrible and painful experience. i got teary eyed when i saw the bumper. bmoral of the story is.. watch out for kids in galants lol **** happens.

I'm going to guess $5000 in damage! Keep us posted.

If your in pain go to the doctor go to the doctor go to the doctor. Your final payment from his insurance is dependant on medical bills.

In Arizona you have 2 years to settle your claim and you can settle the property claim seperately from the personel injury claim. Check your local laws. If his insurance company gives you any crap all you should have to say is "do I need a lawyer". Don't settle for less then what you think is fair!

Sorry about your car!

I'm not sure I understand the process but I think I've seen a new cause for payment from the insurance company. It has to do with reduced resale due to the car having been in an accident. Apparently Car Fax reports whether cars have beenin accidents and if reported, the resale value of the car is detrmentally effected. Maybe someone can correct me on this if it isn't correct. My point is to ask for the value that the car's resale value is reduced by due to the accident.

I really hope that is your "Worst Night Ever"! If that is the worst thing that happens to you, then you are going to be just fine. Not downplaying your story, as I hope you are okay, I just don't want you to think that this is the worst thing in the world to happen to anyone. You should definately get checked out by a doctor if you think you have whiplash. Just be very glad that no one was seriously injured/killed. Even though the kid did something stupid, be glad you didn't kick his a$$ at the scene... then you would have been locked up for battery... no bueno... keep us posted on the car.

Good luck, Dave

no i understand what you mean. it was the worst night ever because ive had the car for 2 months and 16 days. it happened at 11:50 and a cop passed by us and said "ill call in another unit to help you guys" wtf? whatever LUCKILY the cop only took about an hour and a half to get there. but by that time the kid had told me he needed to get his friends home told me to take down all his information and left. i did get his info and when the cop got there he started screaming "that kid left the scene of an accident?!?!? im going to call his right back here and if he doesnt answer im going to go to his house." wel the kid didnt answer so he and i went to the kids house (i stayed about three blocks down) and he gave the kid a 30 minute lecture NO LIE. i ended up finally getting the full police report at 3:00 in the morning and got home at about 330. THATS why it was terrible. and i had to wake up at 7 to go to work on sunday morning. luckily i work at a chiropractor and my boss gave me a free xray and saw that my neck got ****ed up with whiplash. ive been getting headaches and pain in my neck so im going to the doctor on thursday. sorry kenrik, its a stock exhaust. ill post up pics in like 10 minutes. =/ i hate seeing my car parked all roughed up. and how would i go about telling the insurance people about the resale value problem?

sorry for not elaborating on the story the first time around. i just didnt want to go into the whole thing with the stupid kid leaving.

I would also like to know details about this...I think it might be called gap coverage or something???

I asked my Ins co (Progressive) and they didn't know... But it states replacement value, so I presume it's your responsibility to claim any perceived devaluation such as loss of extended factory warranty coverage if title is no longer clean.

I would demand that be included in any settlement, not sure how you would quantify just a lost "Clean" title?

Turn you frown upside down.

Make sure the insurance company compensates you for the repairs as well as your pain and suffering AND the diminished value of your car.

Also, take the car to a "friendly" shop. Ask around if you don't know of one. This is a perfect time to get a body kit and an aftermarket exhaust.

Both of which will cost around the same as the factory ones

i havent been mad since then because i know that the insurance is going to pay for it all and maybe with the diminished value of the car aspect i can have a few bills in my pocket yeah i dont know any shops here. ive never had any problems with my other car besides just regular tune ups so i havent got the slightest idea where to go. and about the aftermarket exhaust, would i just sell the stock exhaust and buy the aftermarket one? does anybody know a good shop in the miami area?

Aaarrgghh!!! Sorry to hear but I am happy to hear that you don't seem to be seriously injured.

For sure make a few trips to the doctor and document EVERYTHING!!

If your G is seriously as damaged as I am picturing, fix it , sell it and start fresh IMHO.

Good luck and keep us posted

No, you find a shop that is willing to work with you and tell them what you want the car to look like/have when their done. They'll work out the details.

Don't take it to a Earl Scheib, Maaco...etc. Independents will work with you more.

Second that. I found this out too late; I was rear ended by some moron, which resulted in minor bumper damage. However, because there was a cop involved, an accident report got filed, which trickled through the system two weeks before I went to sell the car. I lost $1500 in the value of the car (between what the dealer initially offered me as trade-in vs what they offered me after running the carfax that had the accident).

Sorry about the crash. Had the same thing happen to me one time. Luckily, only my license plate was bent. The fool that hit me ran away, and I pursued the daylight out of him. I can't even beleive he was trying to outrun a moded G-35 like mine. I completely understand your teariness. In my case, I was breathing fire and fumes, as a chased down the wild animal that hit my license plate.

It was one of those mights I decided to drive hyper normally---just cruising my way home, when this car which came flying down the road, ljust bumped me. So, as I slowed down, he sped off. I was so mad, and decided to chase him down like an Antelope in the Saranghetti. Well, he maneuvaered a couple of streets at high speeds, and because of this, I was unable to really copy down his license plates. Oh well, I was licky it was just my license plates he crumpled. I though major damage was done to my car. When i got out of the car, I was surprised that there was no damage to the rear of the car. I guess I was lucky on that day.

I just feel lucky and blessed with my G-coupe--- have been stopped three times by cops without getting tickets, almost hit from the side by a crazed driver, and bumped in the rear by a moron. What can I say---when you get the car of your heart, the Good Lord has a way of protecting it from the many imbeciles out there.

I still worry everytime I drive gently because it sems someone always tries to tailgate my car. So, I tend to speed off to get away from those people. I really don't know what to do anymore to stop other cars from tailgating my G-35 Coupe. This is becoming a nuisance situation for me--i feel hounded.

Describe "vibrating".

Maybe knocked you a little out of alignment or flat spotted your tires. Did the guy actually push you when he hit you?

More likely there are some bent rear suspension parts. I'd stop driving it until it is checked out. If the bent parts break you might loose control and finish it off.
