picked mine up at midnight, been playing ever since lol. Nothing but great so far, the VATS system is pretty sweet. graphics are sweet. VERY oblivion-esque, which is great.

picked it up late yesterday from gamestop.only got to play for an hour or so, but so far i like it quite a bit.

Things i like. It's different enough from oblivion it DOESN'T feel like oblivion with guns. Vats rocks my world.Laser pistol FTW!!!once the PC construction kit releases, it's going to be amazing. (kinda like oblivion, vanilla oblivion is okay, but i've got 4gbs of user mods installed which makes the game MUCH more fun)

Cons:Characters do look like they are skating over the ground....Had some odd character bugs, NPC eyes don't line up right, just weird stuff. Doesn't affect the gameplay it just doesn't look right.

Hopefully i'll have more time to play tonight.Fallout quote of the day. Probably not dead onColin Moriarty - "I keep them up to their knees in booze and poon. They get me up to my knees in caps"

Picked it up from Gamestop last night, played for around 4 hours. Love it so far, zero complaints. Like everyone else said, it does "feel" like oblivion but it is different enought that it isn't like oblivion. The game is great. Krazydriver: I have the xbox version (from you post i guess you have the PC version?) and i am not having any graphical character problems. Must just be the differance in pc graphics card drivers (there are so many!)that is causing the problems? Maybe update drivers?

Great game so far, A+

I agree with everyone so far - my 360 version looks great, and has a great feel to it - oblivion-esque, but certianly a different game. I like!

Honestly it was probably just the angle + it being like 2 in the morning and my eyes not working. My initial thought on it being a bug was because i'd had something similar happen in oblivion when a data file got corrupted.

I'll play more today once i get home and see if it really was screwed up. It's robably not though. Funniest "bug" i had was i'm standing in the water around the bomb in megaton trying to get radiation poisoning and all of a sudden EVERY NPC in sight jumps ~2 ft off the ground, lands and continue on like nothing happend. I was like WTF!?!?!

I'm back from the dead...

I got the 360 version....after spending a couple of hours, this game is a must buy for any Oblivion fans.

The VATS is a welcomed addition. SO far no complaints (just that everything is dead-very apocalpytic)

you will see me online playing this game for weeks to come -mYkill818

can't wait to get better guns and armor!

krazydriver, what are your PC's specs? I'd prefer to get this for PC if possible...I'm just not sure my 4 year old machine can handle it.

Just to clear this up, most definitely was not the game. Everything looks fine now, i'm going to blame the 2am and no sleep the previous night.

2.5ghz dual core AMD, 4gb DDR2-800, 8800gts with 512mb. It defaulted to nearly maxed settings and there's no drop in FPS anywhere.PC version will be the best version once the construction set releases. The game will go from good to excellent once the mod community jumps on it.

SMEG. All I have is an ancient 2.4ghz Athlon64 with 2 gigs of RAM and a 512mb AGP* Radeon 2600XT. I bet I can still run it okay. The question is how steady the framerate will be...

I definitely want the PC version for the reasons you stated. Plus I really really really really prefer a keyboard and mouse for FPSs.

Just rented it last night, the game IS a ton of fun to play. I love the diversity in the game. Oblivion was pretty open to whatever you wanted to do, and F3 takes that a step further. It's an RPG, and its a shooter. It can be turn based, or it can be real time.

At the end of the night (5am, the game just drew me in) I had a lot of fun just ****ing up everyone in Megaton. Went to the supply store, sold everything, stocked up on ammo, and then blasted the vendor in the face. Jericho can be a pretty tough dude to fight, but the missile launcher helps.

I might just have to pick this up. Game reviews.com gave it a 9/10 and they are pretty stringent with their standards.

Fallout would be soooo much better if it was a MMO and stay FPS.

That's what I thought it was going to be (never read into it, just watched youtube trailers.) I was excited as hell. Finally a MMO where you get gear, guns, work with factions and everything but its FPS and some what skill based! Helllll yeah.

Then I read reviews and actually read about the game now that it's out and it's not MMO. You cant even play online. <--- thats me

I can't really think of a game LESS suited to being an MMO. Fallout is all about being alone in the world.

If it's about being alone in the world, why does every video show you shooting like five guys all the time?

I want those five guys to be to think and aim and shoot back at me. Then I want to be able to take their stuff. And I want the satisfaction knowing that I just killed a person and I'm better then them.

I want to be able to make deals with real people who can make up their own ideas and deals. Not programed responses.

Then you don't want to play fallout.

I mean...you don't buy a Civic and then decide you'd like to haul 100 school kids around with it. You buy a bus for that. Fallout is Fallout. MMOs are MMOs. The two don't mix. Nothing wrong with wanting those features. They just don't work with Fallout.
