Won't Shift out of Park

What a pain in the backside. Rogue just won't shift out of park. Here's what I do to bypass. Follow instructions for releasing shift lock. on 5-16 in manual. Then you can put car in neutral....THEN into reverse.
Car going in on the 5th for a transmission replacement.

this is not a transmission problem. this is a shifter problem. two different parts. here is the simple and cheap fix i came up with:
