I've been surfing the board for a little over a year and now I need some assistance. I didn't do enough homework before I started my swap. What I need help with is the wiring. I did the eight steps and I got it to run. Man does it sound killer. Well I'll get to the point can any one with information for wiring a RB25DET into a 91' or any RB25DET scamatics sp?.

Email me!

Thanks Mike

I'm also trying to help Mike here with his swap, ... I know some people re-did the "8 step" instructions, so maybe they are easier to understand. Anybody know?? Any additions? :help

Basically, there are just a few issues needed to take care of before it's complete. We just want to make sure we can get all the "shared" info available.

(and the sooner the better, he's trying to get his car ready for a drift competion this coming weekend!! ;) )

Thanks in Advance~Seán :D

for that go to megalla for the quick d-load. i have large files if you need them though like the sky's the limit manual and fsms. if you just need the pinouts and other stuff go there.

Well thank for all the help everyone. I got the car running good enough to drive around. Now I need some help with the gauges. Any info as far as color codes for wires would be extreamly helpful. When I'm all done I'll do a wite up for everyone on how to get all the gauges and stuff to work.

FYI...... I have the speedo adapter from Mckinney but it doesn't have very good directions.

Thanks Mike

stock speedo is green and black on the sender to green and black on the first plug on the side of the engine fuse block. I just used the ka lower harness plugs for a cleaner look.

tach is yellow red off ecu(forgot number) to yellow red on dash cluster plug.

temp dunno yet and aint tried

I believe the sensor is only for the gauge cluster, I couldn't find that wire on the ECU anywhere.

On the RB25 there are 2 temp sensors, one for the ECU and one for the gauges. I am not sure about any other RB motors though. The ECU sensor has 2 wires and the gauge sensor has one. The are right next to each other on the thermostat housing.

you know ya gotta love nissan for simplicity...not like some cars ive worked on where you practically had a whole world of difference between each engine(like another car i own).

I'm Def. not an expert... but doesn't EVERY engine HAVE to have a temp sensor that sends info to the ECU?(not just gauge cluster) otherwise how would it know how to operate under cold temp.. or when to switch once its warm??

This is correct (two sensors). Just replace the one that only has one wire (Blue/Blk) It's in top coolent inlet that is attached to the intake manifold (not the one with the theromstat). With the exact same sensor from the KA motor( has the same Blue/Blk wire)

I hope that explains it more.

Oh, give me a week or so, we have to retrace all the wiring and write it down. we did a rush job so my car could be done for this weekends Hawaii Drift Championship. Oh and take pictures too.

yeah people can also use that lower rad hose insert for an aftermarket sensor off the ka aswell. it beats having to re invent the wheel

It's all good, just want to make sure we're passing out good info.:)

Just replacing the RB one with the one from the KA and wiring it takes about 10 minutes. The Blue/blk wire runs to the white RB plug that Opensource talks about in his thread. Then you connect it to the Blue/Blk on the Brown S13 gauge cluster plug that is next to the ECU

Opensource hope you don't mind me borrowing you pics for a little while.

I think thats it, I can't remember if I had to connect it anywhere else. I would just trace that wire all the way and make sure it's doesn't have any disconnects in it. Like I said it only took about 10 mins.
