I'm not sure why but my wipers aren't working. i get power on the connection that goes to the motor but it still doesn't work even thought i replaced it by a used working one and the fuse is still good. Is there any thing else thats involved in the wiring of the wipers like a relay or something?

Have you checked the FSM, I suck at electronics as well but sounds like something with either the relay or maybe a short in the connection if you say the fuse is good...?

FSM = Factory Service Manual.

Do you have ground? Have you checked the wiper amp? Is you linkage frozen?

the linkage is the physical mechanism that connects the two wiper blades to the motor. if your motor is good, it is likely the amp located on firewall driver side.

there should be a link to the FSM in the stickies somewhere. or google " Nissan 240sx FSM " and see what comes up. Download it, find the wiring diagram for the wiper system, and go from there.

Be sure the wiper has a good power and ground, and has good connections at all terminals. Remove it and turn it on via wiper switch. Does it work?

While motor is removed, try and move the wipers by hand. If they move, there is nothing blocking the linkages. If they dont move, something is catching the linkages and not allowing the wiper arms to "wipe".

if both of these check out, there is most likely a problem in ur wiring or your wiper switch. Good luck.

i'm not sure i understood you right, you want me to take out the wiper motor and then turn it on with the wiper switch?linkage is good

Really?

How did EVERYBODY miss that I posted a link in my previous post to the FSMs for every 240SX? Just pick your poison and download the PDF.

we didn't miss it "FlatBlackIan" lol

venom, yes, if u remove the wiper motor and then turn the motor on from the wiper switch you should see the motor turning. that means ur connections and motor are good. try it at all speeds too

while its out, grab the wiper arm and blade assembly and move them. if they move ok, then there is nothing blocking the linkages.

i thinks its going to be the wiring cuz when i put the new wiper motor and connected it to the linkage i turned it on and nothing happened. before i put the wiper motor i moved the wiper arms so thats fine.

That happened to my friend and it was because the green box next to the brake master cylinder was full of water.

why dont you simply test the wires at the motor to see what wires have what voltage when wipers turned on? between engine ground and wire, a positive voltage will show positive. between battery positive and a ground wire, ground will show ground voltage. if power is not getting to motor, test the voltages at the wiper amp.

see what voltages you get, I can double-check on my working car what the voltages should be.
