Have you checked the fuse? Have you checked the individual doors' window switches, not just the driver master window switch pack?

Can this get a bump?

I have switched the window lock on and off along with the child safety switches.

Will a Nissan dealer be able to work on this? The nearest Infin dealer is 3 hours away.

Thanks!

Yes, I have seen this before on a toyota I owned. What window will not go up or down? Does the master switch get them all to go up or down? Electric windows are a pretty easy fix, its either in the switches or a mechnical problem which could be a bad electric window motor. I had a bad switch, a bad motor and bad mechanicals that drive the window up or down. To give you a better answer I need more details.

The master switch has no effect, I hold the button on the intelligent key and it does nothing....

Have you pulled the master switch and put a volt meter on it to see if you are getting any juice to it? If so, its probably the switch. If not you need to dig into it more. The poster who said it might be a fuse could be correct. I would put a volt meter on the fuse box terminals too and see if juice is getting to it, while I was replacing the fuse. Replacing the fuse is a good idea. I'd also try putting a volt meter on anyone of the individual door switches to see if juice is there. Did this happen one day and the day before nothing was wrong? Or is it just the intelligent key that is giving you a problem? As for Nissan, I'd call a dealer and ask if they can help. Or, there are many diagrams on this site and if you find the electrical one take a look at it and trace the wiring.

I have spent some more time on it and I can confirm that the lock/unlock switch does not work either. I do remember trying to lock the vehicle without the key with me, could this be the issue?

So none of the controls on the doors work!?

I honestly don't know the answer about the key. I did have to replace the batteries in both my keys several years ago as the started to malfunction. Perhaps someone that has your year and model can help. My M is 2 years older and I have never had a problem like your's. Maybe its dealer time?

The key locks and unlocks just fine as does the button on the exterior door handle, but nothing inside works.

You still have me pondering on this. What does nothing inside not working mean? Is the radio dead? Does the car start? Do the lights come on, both inside and outside? The devil is in the details. Windows not working just may be related to another issue. Did you pull the master switch and do a volt meter test? Did you check the fuse out for the windows? Is your battery fully charged?

Car runs fine and all. The only items that do/did not work were the locks and windows. Now I had a passenger in the car and they started to work again, but then would not go all the way up! I kept opening doors and they eventually worked.

This is getting really crazy!

Could this be a battery issue?

Thanks,

I believe this is the original battery the car has 55k

Dying batteries sometimes do lead to mysterious problems in cars. Before you drop any cash, get a free battery test at an auto parts store. My oil change place also does them for free each time (they want to sell new batteries - sad for them I have a new one in there already).

I have to agree with wingFeather. A weak battery can start causing weird issues. I replaced mine about two years ago and it lastest well beyond its normal life. Nothing to lose by trying what he says. At least you will know one way or the other if that is the problem. Generally the alternator will kick in, but if the battery won't take a full charge it needs to be replaced. Its a start in the elimination process. The fact that you stated one window started to work gives me a clue it may be the battery. Electric windows draw a lot more current than most realize.

I stopped at two auto stores and both looked at the battery and both said it was in good condition.

Any ideas on what to do next? What controls both the indoor locks and windows?

This is starting to scare me!

This is right off the NICO tech site. Try it. It might work. There are other tech articles out on the NICO site you could read. There is no doubt these cars have some strange ways to get things back to normal.

These instructions can be utilized to reset the power window modules for newer-generation Nissan and Infiniti products

Reset Power Windows:

If the power window automatic function (closing only) does not operate properly, perform the following procedure to initialize the power window system.
1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Close the door.
3. Open the window more than halfway by operating the power window switch.
4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to close the window, and then hold the switch for more than 3 seconds after the window is closed completely.
5. Release the power window switch. Operate the window by automatic function to confirm the initialization is complete.
6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other windows.

I have done that before, but the majority of the time the windows will not go down unless I do a Chinese fire drill and open random doors!

I'm out of ideas without actually seeing the car myself. If it were me I'd take it to the dealer at this point.

I am going to take off the doors and take a look at the motors. Are the doors on these M's easy to take off with breaking them?

Thanks again!

If all windows are having a problem, it might be "upstream"... like the master switch? Definitely easier to pull & clean than all doors. Might simply be a loose wire at that master switch, too.

Sorry you are alone having this problem. It sucks not having any history to pull up on Google. Best wishes!

I agree with wingFeather, especially since you say sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Its highly unlikely all motors would go bad at once. Pulling the master switch would be my first move.

@ myother45isalesbaer,

Thank you for posting the info regarding the reset of the power window modules. I noticed yesterday that the front passenger side window and the rear drivers side window were not working when using the auto up feature. Did the reset as described above and they now work perfectly.

Thanks again.

Great news. I'm glad to hear that your windows are back working as they should. Thanks for telling us all what the final solution was.

Sorry, I didn't realize there was a different poster on here. Good luck with the switch and please let us all know if that was the issue.

I took the door off last night thinking it would be an easy fix, but defintely not the case. Does anyone know how to from the cables for the door lock and handle? Removing the master window switch is a lot of work with 90 degree bends etc.....

This should be fun.

Yes we all know. You are not a car guy. Good to Infiniti help sites or go to a dealer. Of course its a lot of work. These are not your father's cars. Why would you take the door off? The master switch pops out in about two seconds if you would have read the Infiniti manual.

I have done the Nav install and the Ipod install so I am not a complete noob! The master switch pops out!? Is this information in the in vehicle manual or the tech's manual?

Thanks!

Does this guy know what he is talking about? I have looked at the tech's manual and have not seen anything to indicate it "pops" out.

Thanks!

On my 2004 its and easy fix. Maybe you have a harder to fix one on your year and model. However, you bought a high priced car. Why not just take it a dealer and pay to have it fixed? When you buy a high end car you have to expect to pay high end prices to get it repaired.

The closet Infiniti dealer is 3 hours away and the Nissan dealer is afraid to touch it.

I bought the car, I know it is expensive.......Why the rudeness?
