he is right you dont need to cut unless you plan on running your car slammed with some decent side wall on your tires.

but you can pull of having wider wheels with out having a cut anything the over fender is just so the wheel is flush and not sticking out .

if you just put fender overlays on the car with stock fenders underneath, you will NOT fit anything bigger than what you would without the overlays.sure you can just put overlays on and call it a day, but why do something half ***? my point was, all too often advice is given on this forum by people who have PROBABLY never done half the work they are telling someone else to do, or the read it in a magazine, and now think they are a expert on the subject.

LOL, I wrote almost the exact same thing but deleted the post. P.S- I've seen some of miracleboi123 other posts and needless to say...he likes to give out false information.

Just thought I'd check with the aforementioned shop (AIT Racing) regarding the cutting of the guards by sending them this question:

Quote »I assume that for your S13 rear widebody fenders to fit correctly and to provide sufficient clearance for wider rims, the original rear quarter would need to be cut and re-sealed higher for full suspension travel?
And this was their response (<sarcasm>surprisingly</sarcasm>):

Quote »Yes, you would need to cut the factory body.

Here's a image for example to show how the quarter panel is trimmed.
Well I think that puts things straight wouldn't you say, although we all knew, I thought I'd just get the facts straight from the horses mouth so to speak.

In the rear youll need to reweld the inner and outer fender sheetmetal. Otherwise you would be compromising the integrity of the unibody. There are quite a few how tos floating around. Just give it a quick search
