wide band o2 sensor?

is there a way you can tell if your car has a wide band o2 sensor or not? car might have one already but not sure. i dont want to buy one if it already has it. thanks in advance.

DID you buy from some 1 who said there was a wideband in it? IF not and there is no air fuel ratio gauge than probely not.

no air fuel ratio gauge. i was just wondering if you could tell by how many wires there are or some thing of that sort. not really all that sure of what the guy has dont to this car.

Get the part number off of the O2 sensor and either google, post here, or if it's an OEM after all, just call nissan.And the only OEM wide band O2 sensor I have ever seen comes on a 4Runner.

your car will not run properly with a wide band o2, the ECU only excepts Nernst cell type signals. The SR is meant to run with a three wire sensor, one signal wire, and two signal wires.

Most wideband oxygen sensors are made by Bocsh, and have 5 wires and a special locking connector.

Very few systems can accurately decode a wideband signal, even standalone EMUs need a separate UEGO controller so read the wide band signal. If you do indeed have a wideband, it will be wired into a controler before it reaches the ECU.

now do i have to have a wide band o2 and controller for the a/f gauge? little confused. i know i need a a/f gauge to tune my safc but do i have to do the wide band? and doesnt the wide band almost do the same thing as the safc? thanks in advance

No you need a wideband o2 sensor kit that comes with a wideband a/f gauge.wideband=shows you your air fuel ratio.SAFC=lets you adjust your fuel
