suit and tie goes along way than baggy jeans and shirt with the judge. appearance DOES matter. show that your respectful and genuinely a good kid and that this speeding ticket isnt cuz you like to speed but cuz you had to speed.

I'm gettin my license suspended in 10 days for 1 month as a result of my criminal speeding adventure. I pleaded to the DA.. it's my first ticket ever in 4 years of driving. I got fined $300 and 30 day suspension. I didn't think to ask for driver's course at the hearing. Is it too late to get the points taken off my license?

Funny how all the Jersey kids are chiming in about court. Jersey loves traffic court.

Meantime your in South Jersey, what do you know about traffic:D ?

I'd say watch out about taking all four points, THEN going to traffic court...try to get it reduced to two first. Lately I've been hearing a bunch of kids in my area getting dropped after getting 4 points on their record...but this is Jersey.

I'm like 15 minutes away from Philly...I assure you, I know all about traffic. :yesnod

Although I admit it's not as bad "down here" as it is "up thar", I don't think I could stand living in NoJoy. Too dense.

Mr sr is gonna die>?????

Hopefully not, but an SR is not god's gift to Nissan, it's not indestructible. I hope your motor stays good for a long time, but you don't need to "test" it on the streets.

wtf do you do to your sr... pamper it, dress it up... play barbies with it... i hope not..

Uh oh my secret is out. I play with barbies and put lingerie on my SR! Best flame I've ever read...

I rarely even mess with it ... its just i got my FMIC installed and wanted to see the diff.....

Well this was dumb to do on the roads, take it to a track or put it on a dyno. Officer, I just changed my belts and radiator hoses and I was testing the motor to see the difference! Smooth move exlax.

Just a cop was in my way

Good hopefully you will learn from this situation.

"Cops don't have to be there in person. "

In GA if the cop does not show up then the judge has the option to drop the ticket if he wishes. This is what happened in my case after the 4th time going to court for a speeding ticket in which they were going to take my liscense. My advise is to go to court, it cant hurt and you never know what you might learn out of the experience.

Here in Florida if the cop doesn't show up for the court hearing then the ticket is deleted. And if its your first ticket and you go to speeding class then your insurence is lowered. I know kinda weird but true. I have gone through this and my friend is going though this too...oh and my first ticket was 92 in a 45 also but i did have a good reason. I was going to the hospital...cop was nice about it he took 3 dollars off the ticket :(

I was just messin with ya, cause this fall I'm going to Stockton College, and down there it is literally like a different state (exit 44 on pkwy). It has a real southern feel to it, kinda erie actually.

However, I can't even stand North Jersey traffic (and I've lived here my whole life). Driving a half-hour to drive two towns over, then later the same night taking five minutes to get back sucks.

But back to topic, in New Jersey I've had two friends whose tickets were dropped after the officer failed to show up for court. One was in Newark, which is understandable (very busy, crime-ridden city). The other however was in a small town. So it isn't true that the cop doesn't need to show up...maybe not in every case, in every county, in every state, but I've personally seen this happen.
