I am a reasonable guy. I am intelligent enough to realize that there is enough traffic here to have to limit the amount of crap that goes on here, but I wanted to send a PM to Dexter concerning his flood problem and I wasn't ables to. Why the hell is that ? In most other forums I attend, that is no problem.

Forget PM... IM is where it's at.

I wish the administrators would add IM icons to our little profile header on the left of our posts. That way you could just send someone an IM instead of screwing around with the whole PM nonsense.

when i first joined, i was raging over the PM issue. Since then I have found coping devices and really don't care about it nearly as much. If nothing else, it causes me to do more research and help me learn in a pro-active way. although all things mentioned in that thread are very true as well..

Yeah, basically PM is a waste of time and knowledge. If it's tech info, share it on the boards. If it's social, use email and IM, etc...

Sorry for the frustrations Bryant. I was also frusterated with this when i joined the NICO forum 4 years ago. But I'm still around, and to be honest.. i've completely forgotten all about it.

no.. i don't think you'll see IM's on NICO any time in the near future.

just get yourself a aol account or some other IM program and go to town.

I just think that there should be an AIM/Yahoo/MSN/ICQ logo(s) under user name/profiles so that people can click the icon and open an IM window.

If you really need to send an IM, click on the person's user name and see their profile. If they have an IM service screen name listed, hit them up. I'm pretty sure mine's in my profile Bryant.
