Actually that was a C6, and when I went to "build/quote" it, the price actually dropped to mid 48k... go figure.

I agree. "what Nissan?" :chuckle:

But in all fairness, that's a stripped base model. Although it would easily outperform the Z, the performance options I would need would still push the MSRP way above the $50K limit, so with that price limit, for practicality, I might still consider a loaded NISMO 370Z, but I'd be annoyed about it.

Hey, easy there pops. It's not like an M3 has a much better back seat.

I'd still rather have the M3 or the Porsche over a Vette regardless. If you're going to overcompensate, you might as well do it right and with some class. I'll pass on the flimsy fiberglass, thanks. :poke:

One of the folks I travel/compete with nationally bought a '12 C6 GrandSport for 48 out the door this winter. Outstanding vehicle and an interior that isn't a joke like C5's (well, aside from the seats that flop around =P)

I'm not convinced the C5 interior is truly bad. I prefer the look and ergonomics to the C6, which looks like a rental Cavalier interior (probably because it's all the same parts).

My C5 interior was pristine, quiet, and had none of the issues that the C5 gets chided for. I suspect some of them are just abused / neglected.

I didn't think the C5 interiors were that bad, just the seats. Tolerable for the street, but disappointing on track given it's performance.

Those C5 seats seem to be prone to squeaking, creaking, and wobbling.

A lot of them do it.

That's about right.

Bex and I loved our C5, but the "scene" wasn't cool at all. We *did* meet a few awesome friends, who we still stay in contact with, but for the most part, there were a lot of drama-ridden, arrogant middle-aged people who weren't exceptionally intelligent, had never turned a wrench, and were prone to drinking, gamb|ing, and cheating.

We'll own another C5 / C6, but we won't get involved in the 'Vette club scene. Datsun / Nissan people are WAY cooler.

Makes sense. My neighbor, who is in the market for a new corvette to replace his C5 (base model automatic with some customized stuff & still available for sale if anyone is interested), just told me yesterday that the volume Vette dealer in our area, Kerbeck, has just begun offering new C6 Grand Sports for well under $50K. I'm guessing these better prices might be related to their making room for the new C7's.

Mine had 36,000 miles on it and was garage kept, the interior is spotless, just bad looking =P. Its horribly blah, its "blahful" if you will, much like the puketer color of the exterior on my FRC. I guess the only redeeming thing regarding it is that there is nothing distracting about it, so when I'm sitting in grid waiting to get released, I can concentrate just fine. Luckily I didn't buy the car to look at it =)

The biggest issue with the 370Z I see is that the suspension is smartly-stupid. It has DWB which is nice, but then lacks the ability to adjust camber/caster, which is ridiculous. If I pay that much for a sports car, it better have a more sophisticated suspension design.

On a recent trip to a dealership, for some consult stuff, the salesman had forgot that I'm a regular visiter, but not car buyer, and saw me pull up in my z32 got excited (forced) me in to a test drive,Ha ha. The thing is fun to drive but I don't feel like I'm driving as much as piloting,to much eltcro control not enough foot control.in return I gave him a ride in my n/a 300,just ebaich springs on stock struts wilwood on all 4 corners. And a true ram air with ducting,he almost screemed in the middle of a u turn
