I was recnetly pondering this, but it does make sense... please take a moment to enlighten yourself....

Fact: People who know very little about cars are attracted to loud, flashy autmobiles.

Equal reaction: People who want to show off there hot wheels to people who don't know much about cars (their friends maybe) deck out their cars with body kits and flashy lights and flashy paint, with flashy wheels, and crazy sound systems... ricers... well most of them anyways..

Fact: People who know alot about cars and engines and such are more attracted to speed , handling and sound.

Eqaul reaction: Those who are trying to impress fellow enthusiasts and/or are racers, tend to work in the performance area of modicfication. They are the people who have turbos and nitrous and coil overs and big brakes.

Therefore one could conclude that depending on who the person is trying to impress, will influence the way the person modifies his or her car.

With that being said there are always exceptions to these statements. Such as some people put audio in for their pleasure. Some people wish to go faster because of the thrill. Some ricers also like to go fast as well.

There are also people who do both. They are the people who like show and like go. These are the people I believe most 240 owners represent.

If your still reading, i feel sorry for you.. but i hope you learned something...

a clean sleeper look is what does it for me. Maybe rims, but thats it. Speed is fun, but when do you really get a chance to use all that power? Too risky on the highway, and if you get caught, say good bye to your toy!

I still want an sr though

;)

we think the same on alot of subjects. cool. i guess i'm a little more go than show, but i like the "fast" look, as well as actually, for real, being fast. i just love opening the hood and seeing my intake. its so putry:) one of these days there will be more to gauk at. :evilhaha

i think im more of an audio person than anything. Theres something about checking the "Trunk" and seeing the 3 shivas back there. I wish i lived near the audobahnn and could justify having alot of speed mods but i cant :( so audio and handling are the next best thing.

Your post is very enlightening...you are now my personal buddah Aka my little fat bald man.

I'm an interior guy. i like sitting in my car and feeling like a million $$$! I also like it when people who know jack about cars, sit in my ride and go, "Whoa, what is this thing?"

Exterior is also somewhat important when wanting to turn heads or lift skirts! Not up there on my list.

Instantrice made some good points, you really can't use half of the 300HP most people try to obtain with their 240's unless its on a track. Audio is a nice bonus, until you go deaf! :) Handles are always good, and actually help you in your day to day driving. As soon as i finish my interior (about another 3 weeks), I'll take pics and post em.

I like both aspects, but more go than show. I'm surrounded by cars with both every day, but the farthest I will ever take my car with the show part is the G Grow bodykit and thats about it. You make good sense in your first post though.

The 240sx is all show and little go to begin with! It is a sexy... fast LOOKING car. Yes, it handles and performs pretty well in stock form... but it looks like a meaner car than it really is. I mean a Dodge Shadow RS is a damn K-car... looks pretty simple, but it's turbo'd... now that's go with no show!

I like driving a nice, fast looking car... but for right now I'm working on making the car PERFORM up to it's looks! Then I'll worry about body kits and paint!

I actually have come to prefer neons over the 22" chrome rims , the windshield banners that help to inform me of the car's make or model (oh! that's a Honda?! I didn't realize . . . :twins ), and the aluminum triple deck spoilers. *sigh* Sad thing is that people in Michigan (aren't we supposed to be a car knowledgeable state? Detroit Motor-city?) see a Cavalier go by with a Supra spoiler, "Oh, must be fast." I just wanna :slap .

I was thinking more along the lines of a rotary, or a small block chevy LOL... maybe even boxer engine... inline 6? of course you would prolly have to rebuild the back end... but you would be a force to be reconed wit......
