You should really go read in the blow through section of turbomustangs.com. A lot of the big time ballers of the turbo 8 cylinder world are blow through anymore. A local guy to be back in Florida runs a Blow through supercharged setup and did very well in the US street nationals in Orlando.. He won first place for radial tire.. Will Stevenson is his name..

I got a bunch of great info from TurboMustangs.Com. Thats actually where I regained interest in a blowthrough setup in the first place. Carbs nowadays are designed far better and floats don't callapse and they don't use plastic pieces that will push out or break off.

I haven't made up my mind as of yet, most of the 454's I'm looking at are already TBI. But TBI is awful...two huge injectors...no better then a carb. Idealy I'd like to build a twin throttle TPI setup. There are some prefabbed plenums online for a decent price, I'd just need flanges and a runners. Almost anything would be an improvement over TBI.

different folks are after different strokes.

For me its a hobby , building up /tunning/making most whp per cylinder or per litre somewhat.Keeping it in nosless and v8less class of cars as well for local events.

We all seen oem internals with a good tune into 400-550whp on ka and rally cars droping 400 pounds by 1500rpm. So it depends what you after i guess.

A v8 in an "s" chasis is not a hobby, thats a solution for cheap power where is the challange ? In making it fit ?Also guranted traction issues, if you daily drive it. My car 70% of the time is daily driver i only track it like 1-2 times a month so i never need that 400 pounds of the line driving to work. I am fine with 250 pounds by 3000rpm. Dont get me wrong any v8 engine will have pleanty of the line and will make you do catwalks if it gets forced fed in a light shell like s13.But if i was after a drag car i RATHER take toyota starlet shell or vw rabbit chasis over s13 and drop in a v8 diesel that shiet will fly if you add wings. Like thats 510 datsun with a hemi in it.

Any motor swap other then the SR20 is very difficult especially if you're doing it yourself. Have you ever fabricated motor and transmission mounts? A solution for cheap power...thats a retarded statement if there ever was one. The cost of the motorset and fabrication work is more expensive then adding a turbo kit and simply adding boost...if anything thats the solution for cheap horsepower. That's Cory's main argument, which happens to be very true in the case of swapping a V8 into a S chassis. I'm purely a hobbiest, DIY kinda guy. I always have been...

Um, what does that even mean? If I swap a V8 into an S chassis I'll have more traction issues then I will with a KAT? The onset of torque will be earlier, but that is about the only difference. Torque is torque, it will break traction no matter what the motor is.

I understand you have your own opinions, but you may want to rethink the facts behind them. The KAT is a great powerplant, I never said it wasn't. However, I've done the KAT thing and for me, exploring the V8 swap intrigues me the most.

The only reason I ever really get into that argument is because that is the first ****ty interrogative excuse I hear from arrogant domestic owners after I have to prove I made 420whp on a stock internal 4 cylinder.

Domestic owner:"yea, that thing is pretty fast...But how much money have you put in it..??hehe..,"

Me:"$5k in the engine bay..,"

Domestic owner: "Oh ****.. Thats not very much...,"

or...

"Wait til I get so and so part...,"

Either way, you still aren't going to get any respect from the ignorant retards who barely get to H/C setups and think they are hot ****.. Likewise, domestic owners still aren't gonna get any respect from ignorant retard import owners who make 250whp and think they are hot ****.. If there is one thing I could stress to all car enthusiasts, it is stick together and treat all car enthusiasts good. Don't come off like a prick(starting car comparisons, ect) Not that you have to cater to ricers or take siht from somebody, but if someone wants some advice or a little help on a performance modification and seems to have attempted to educate themselves, help them out. Be cool to other car enthusiasts no matter what the make/model. We as a group have a way more serious problem than what brand of car is the best. Its called lawmakers and law enforcement.. The more enthusiasts we have, the better chance you have to fight the system before they completely outlaw modifying street vehicles..

Domestic guys fail to realize the S chassis is light and with 400WHP they'll have to be making a good bit over 500 to keep up, atleast the Chevy guys will. The earlier Ford guys have a comparable weight ratio.
