What you talking about Dave?Dattebayo wrote:NO, I download too. But I'm smart enough to wait a few weeks rather then risk losing my internet connection because of getting a hot watched movie.
Normally, I would let this go. But the hypocrisy in this post was just too blatant and epic to pass up. How many times have I read posts from you complaining about people on welfare and their handouts and calling them lazy? Hell, or just handouts in general?dusred wrote:ThePirateBay FTW!. . . that site has saved me so much money. I love free stuff. All you guys can sit up on your high horses and act all shocked that someone would actually want free stuff but you will probably accomplish more by pissing on the nearest tree.
Honestly, I would buy these things is they didn't charge a ridiculous amount.AppleBonker wrote: Then, you post this explaining that you are just too lazy to work a little bit harder to be able to more easily afford this stuff, so you (rather than even waiting for a handout) go ahead and steal it? You know, there is a reason I pick on hard-core conservatives more than liberals. You guys make it too easy. At least the libs can put things under the umbrella of trying to help the less fortunate (though that is often a misguided description). But you guys are all about the "everyone do as I do because my way is ideal" and anything that you don't agree with is completely immoral, regardless of how similar it is to your own situation. Do you know how many more jobs could've been created by the movie studio/game developers/music producers had you actually paid for their products rather than stealing them? And, by the way, that's a criminal act. So should the government be able to invade all your privacy now just to be able to remove any "handouts" you may be receiving?
Lame.......................AppleBonker wrote: At least the libs can put things under the umbrella of trying to help the less fortunate
I forgot about this as an option. Though, in the OP's case it's not valid as the movie is still in theaters. But I guess it doesn't hurt too much to wait for it to hit video. The last movie I actually saw in the theaters was the Dark Night. Everything else has waited for a BR release.Encryptshun wrote:Netflix is $8.95/month, or $9.95 if you want the blu-ray option.
Don't most libraries also rent movies? Or at least some do, if I recall correctly. Haven't been to one in a while as I continue to make the purchases on my iPad.flohtingPoint wrote:I'm low-tech, books are free from the library.
Exemplary job at confirming my viewpoint. My post was in no way supposed to spark a political debate, so I appreciate you proving once again that you are, in fact, a broken record. Seriously, I took a shot at BOTH liberals and conservatives in that post, but I guess in your haste to profess how much better your view is you missed the comment about libs. In case you were actually wondering, I pick on extremists of all forms. Some just are easier targets than others.wingFeather wrote:Lame.......................AppleBonker wrote: At least the libs can put things under the umbrella of trying to help the less fortunate
That you are lame? This is not the POLITICAL forum. Take your agenda somewhere else...AppleBonker wrote:Exemplary job at confirming my viewpoint.
Yea, but last time I looked they were like PBS documentaries (which are ok) and Curious George (which are ok... if you're 6).AppleBonker wrote:flohtingPoint wrote:I'm low-tech, books are free from the library.
uhhhh, I dunno if you heard about piratebay, but. Don't use it anymore.dusred wrote:ThePirateBay FTW!. . . that site has saved me so much money. I love free stuff. Pretty sure I'd gladly watch either. I see nothing wrong with Curious George.flohtingPoint wrote:Yea, but last time I looked they were like PBS documentaries (which are ok) and Curious George (which are ok... if you're 6).
I think I remember mine. LotR: The Two Towers. Definitely the last time, and possibly the only. The quality is generally pretty crappy on pirated movies (especially in the time between theatrical release and DVD release). But that one was DVD quality (with DTS audio track iirc) intended for reviewers for the academy or some garbage. It was on the web only about a month after the theatrical release. And, before anyone tries to call me out on it, I've bought the trilogy three times in video format (the theatrical trilogy, the extended trilogy and the theatrical trilogy on Blu-ray). I also plan on buying the extended Blu-ray version when it comes out (probably on launch day). I've also bought the book trilogy twice (once as paperbacks and once as digital copies). I think I do a good job giving my money to that franchise...krash wrote:I can't even remember the last time I torrented something. NETFLIZ FTW!

And there's plenty more where that little gem came from. How can you be so obtuse? Is it deliberate?wingFeather wrote:Excellent post. Contributes much to NICO. Subscribed!
Ask yourself buddy, not me. Maybe you could bring up a specific thread or post and we can discuss. I complain about people who think everything should be paid for by 'the rich'.AppleBonker wrote: How many times have I read posts from you complaining about people on welfare and their handouts and calling them lazy? I've read my post forward, sideways, upside down, and while riding a horse and I still can't see where I explained how I was to lazy to work a little harder to afford a movie. Maybe you could elaborate.dusred wrote:ThePirateBay FTW!. . . that site has saved me so much money. I love free stuff. Meh. I've heard that BS enough.Bonkers wrote: At least the libs can put things under the umbrella of trying to help the less fortunate.
Ironic. You claim to be a liberal and then you complain that those evil rich producers are being cheated out of $15 from dusred. Last I checked it was your mission to "spread the wealth around a little" (translation: steal it from them and give it to those who didn't earn it).Bonkers wrote:Do you know how many more jobs could've been created by the movie studio/game developers/music producers had you actually paid for their products rather than stealing them?
Then come arrest me. If the producers feel like I'm sealing from them they're welcome to come sue me.Bonkers wrote: And, by the way, that's a criminal act.
That was random. If I had my way there would be no 'handouts'.Bonkers wrote: So should the government be able to invade all your privacy now just to be able to remove any "handouts" you may be receiving?
Your ISP can refuse to allow you internet service if they get a letter from the company you "stole" the movie from when you DL'ed that torrent.PoorManQ45 wrote:What you talking about Dave?Dattebayo wrote:NO, I download too.
