why is every exhaust for the 240 a fart can?

yea, fart cans. And they look like N1s. Thats why some people call N1's fart cans. A nice N1 catback is not a fartcan.

Sigh.... Apexi Made the N1.... Everyone ripped it off and now they sell for 10 bucks. The Reason most sound like a$% is everyone exhaust clamps them on after they cut the perfectly functional muffler. How many cars have you guys seen that need a Straight threw muffler? 10% of the ones that they are on?

I give respect to those who do mods that are needed.

The pic I posted is of a hks, It's a 75mm The one that I owned started causing issues somewhere around the mid to high 300's to the wheels and was replaced.

As far as "perfection" goes, once its out of the paint booth it will be worth posting pics. It's in primer @ the moment. Should I start a topic about cars done in primer?

would u say this is a fart can if you call this a fart can then you need to sell your 240 and get a honda bro and by the way this is a full 3 inch free flow exhaust.and the reason ppl put n1 exhaust on there 240 cause it helps on top end.
i smoked a 2003 rx8 on top end 130mph baby all the way

I hope this is a joke, if it isn't you beat a rx8 with a turbo 240? if it's n/a why do you have a full 3" exhaust on it?

the last time i checked a 2003 auto rx8 is about 189hp and my car with some mods and yes it is n/a at the time smoked a rx8 we were on a highway and the rx8 could not hang when i looked down my speedo was clocked down to 120 and the rx8 was behind so my point is that my hks 3inch free flow exhaust helps me at top end.

nissan and fart cans don't mix
honda and fart cans they get along pretty well

next time choose ur words wisely you could of use big exhaust instead of fart cans

Holy crap, it must have taken you 5-10 minuets just to hit 130, to bad there wasn't a cop on the side of the road somewhere in the 10 miles that the race covered.

to the people with a 3" exhaust on a n/a. Please take some time and read up on exhausts, A 2.5" exhaust without stupid restrictions will flow to around 250 hp. Last time I checked people are just cracking the 200whp with n/a ka's

to those that need a APEX-i n1 or similar because a normal muffler will not flow, props!

Eh, you're just a car snob. You don't NEED anything for your car. In fact, your car was built to do what its supposed to, go from point A to point B. There are things you WANT for your car, like go-fast bits, suspension stuff, and sure tracking it. But if you're going to complain and call everyone a ricer because they "don't need an exhaust" then gtfo.

On a stock KA, I see the only reason for a performance exhaust as sound tuning. Sure you'll get a bit of extra power there, but its not much to brag about. I'm not at all saying putting a performance exhaust on a stock KA is stupid, some of them sound pretty damn nice. I'd like to see this 240 of yours that has all this power. Since you're complaining to everyone that they don't "need their exhaust", I want to see this beast of a car that "needs an exhaust." Did Jonny Tran hook you up with an sr20? You must have paid top dollar; sr20's pull a good premium right before race wars.

Sucks, you could have been cool to, you have a vert.

Exactly krash.

Anyway, here's your exhaust....you can shut the f*** up now:

Oh, and here is my 3" exhaust on my stock KA. Don't you love it?

Not everyone drives a race car. The majority of people buy an exhaust for the sound/look. I don't see why that is so hard for your mind to wrap around.

Maybe we like to change where our power is?

I know my NA KA LOVES top end with a 3" straight pipe and no cat.

I believe it was said before, f*** Supra owners.

Is it just me that can't grasp the reason why to spent $600 for an exhaust of a slow 15+ years old car? You can get another engine for that money! top end / low end, whatever. Stock KAs are slow. Thank God I have a 5 speed.

I had a mexican shop put an exhaust couple weeks ago. Spent total $85. Looks bad, like that very first pic, but damn, I am sure that it will be the last part to fail on my 14 years old car until I sell it. Could have spent $144 for a better looking one, but who cares, I still enjoyed driving 1000 miles last week and I still smile at my car everytime I leave the parking lot.

You answered your own question. People pay for quality, it not looking like s***, and partly just for the brand name. People can spend $600 on an exhaust and smile even bigger when they don't see a janky a** mexican exhaust under their car.

I agree, 240's are pieces of crap for the most part. That doesn't mean you have to make a bad thing worse by putting cheap raw functioning parts on. Like I said, not everyone drives a track car. Image, image, image.

All this fart can talk got me thinking, what would the Buddy Club spec II be classified as? It doesn't have a big canister, its just a 4 inch tip welded to some 3 inch pipe with a resonator.

bigs1:240's are are pieces of crap? Jeez man, you started off good and ended with insults. :slap:

zenkistic: Well, bigs1 said it pretty good (in the beginning), and then slid down the hill of ugliness. :tisk:

^^^ Really? I found his assessment on par, maybe you need to post up your not 20 year old 240 and show us a real car!

lets be realistic, 240's are old as balls, we have to spend all that money to make it up to par and feel nice.

quite the bubble your in.
