So I started classes again and I must say that it feels pretty good to be back in college. Now that I am back there with my fastback, I turn quite a few more heads than when I drove my coupe.. However, I've only been back a week and the ricers are already out in packs. I already have two great stories to share....On Tuesday I get out of class at about 3.30PM and I am walking towards my car when I see a kid standing right behind it looking at the exhaust pipe. As I get closer he gets up from the ground and asks: This your car?Yeah. "Oh dude, that is a nice looking car..." "Thanks... Can I help you?""No man, it's just nice to see a good looking Nissan. I drive a 350Z." I turn around and I see a gray 350Z with the driver's door open. Oh, a fellow NICO fan maybe? No. I start talking to the kid and he says how he likes his car and all. So he asks me if I have been waiting for the snow to melt to finally drive my car again. "No, I work everyday so I just drove it in the snow.""Oh dude, that's scary. I couldn't drive my car in the snow. I don't even drive it when it rains.... It can't be controlled." So I tell him that he just needs to get used to the car and go easy on the throttle. He'll soon figure out the balance of the power to use on wet roads. I then couldn't stop myself... "Is this your first RWD?"And that's when the BS came out. "No man, I've been driving Porches and Ferrari's my whole life... This is just my new toy....." Oh really?" "Yeah. It's just stupid to take the Porsche to school..."Now, I've driven an '85 Carrera and I've had the privilege to ride in a few Ferrari's back when I still lived in Rome. If you cannot handle a stock 350Z in the rain, there is no FU*KING CHANCE IN HELL you can handle a supercar. Why the bull****? Your father bought u a nice new car with his money? Shut the hell up and be happy with it. Don't do the stupid lying ****... It doesn't impress me.

Now for story #2.I'm in my engineering class today and since the Prof. was just demonstrating how to use software I already have a knowledge of, I decided to surf NICO . The guy next to me looked at the picture of BOMEXS13's car and goes "What car is that?" "S13. Nissan 240SX.... nowhere near stock... ."That's an old car. "Ok????..." "So what do u drive man?" "I also have a S13." "Is it stock?" "Not really.....""I got a fully modded Eclipse." "Oh cool. GSX or GST?"No, it's a 2003 GS." ................... "I've dropped $12000 in the engine alone... .""Oh really?"Yeah man, I just blew my motor though." "Oh, of course you did... "."Yeah, but me and my boy stripped it and brought it back to Mitsubishi and they gave me a brand new motor and transmission under warranty. Now I'm gonna do it again." So I'm already calling BS. But wait, it gets better.After class he wants to see my car, and he starts following me in the parking lot. Then he decides he wants to show me his car. He's got a huge aluminum wing, body kit and cheapo rims. Also the car is lowered. Now, If you blow $12,000 in an engine alone.... You must be talking about completely rebuilt internals, full porting and polishing, and even a turbo or a supercharger. If you are pulling that many mods and that much HP, there is no way you are riding on stock brakes, stock struts, fart can exhaust, etc...Also, If you blow $12,000 and get brand new internals, would you keep all of your old parts in your garage, ready to go back? And what kind of idiots are Mitsubishi mechanics anyways, that they couldn't tell the motor was messed with??I wished the guy a good day and left in my car....Why do these guys have to make up such dumbass stories? I would have respected him more if he told me that he hadn't done much to the car or that he liked his car the way it was... Just be real with yourself....Sorry for the full scale rant..... yeah people always have to lie. even in the quarter mile runs and stuff when some people run like 14.2 seconds they like to say i ran 13.x etc whatever they have they like to say they have better. i dunno why.

if i pulled a lot of hp id still be using stock brakes though with aftermarket pads just because i pull a lot of hp doesnt mean the car is gonna be a 200mph car. but yeah i encounter lots of guys like that though. they talk like theyre all big like oh i'm capable of taking everything apart of my car and putting it back in im a car expert. and u see them struggling trying to install a bov or intake sponge. its funny as hell.

I hear ya, I have no idea what possesses people to act that way at all. I mean seriously, it makes me wonder if they really have any interest in cars, or any respect for cars and fellow enthusiasts to behave that way. They seem much more interested in getting a reaction from other people than they do to imporve themselves or actually enjoy driving. It's just sort of depressing and it's too bad because it gives plenty of good people a bad name in the eyes of some general public or cops for example.

Tell me about it. I got out of work this past tuesday to find my car gto broken in to. Nope, not the 240, its my daily friver celica. The suckers did it in broad daylight, 2PM to be exact. Passnger window smashed, glvoe compartment open. I'm glad I keep my car empty with no radio faceplate and no steering wheel.

Yeah, that's especially amusing if you read any EVO forums. These days, Mistu will void your powertrain warranty if they find out that you so much as *looked* at the engine. Hell, they'd probably void your warranty if they thought you farted on the driver's seat.

Considering Mitsubishi's financial situation and the hosing they took in North America on financing, I can't say I blame them for being tight with warranty work.

Anyway, back on topic...I guess Car still equals Surrogate pen15 for a lot of people out there.

Man I have so many of those stories its not even funny. You evenually learn to drone them out and reply with ok and yeah and throw in a 'oh really'. Its always funny when they think the BOV is comming from the turbo and they refer to it as the turbo sound. You say "the turbo spooling" and they look at you puzzled and say it makes the pppsssshhhtt sound. You say the the sprung a leak valve.

i myself wished i had a gsx... as much as it sounds bad... i love the gsx... thats my freaking dream car... the body styling from the old models is just so damn nice... i love that car and i will own one later in life dammit! GSX! RALLIART FO SHIZZLE! lol for now stuck with my 240 =\ as much as i like it... it is no where compared to my love for the gsx =] she will be mine soon...
