But When I was about to leave I Over hear him saying yeah I just got some coffee from Star Bucks to his friends that just came into the room. (They were not in the room when he was buying coffee out of the Mechine)

Me and my friends just started to crack up as soon as he said that! I don't understand why would someone think a $2 coffee would make them look cool?
ahh let see,

uneducated, lower class, narrow view, very shallow, a teenager, poor (as s13guy said), and a wanna be richy cool looking guy with class who's trying to get laid.

P.S. oh, almost forgot; http://www.dictionary.com

wrong, mountain dew ( a 20 oz) has about 150% more than a grande of coffee plus a buttload more sugar to get you jump started

its funny, me and my friends always hang out at this 24 hour starbucks but actually buy coffee only 20 % of the time :P

Uh Scorch, no I am not wrong. If you bothered to do some research you would find out that:Mountain Dew has 54.0 mgs of caffeine per 12oz can.CoffeeDrip has 115-175 mgs of caffeine per 7ozBrewed has 80-135 mgs caffeine per 7ozInstant has 65-100 mgs caffeine per 7oz

That is a hell of a lot more. Less volume and 3 times the amount of caffeine. Way more than any softdrink (except Jolt). I have attached a listing of Caffeine contents.

You are right about the sugar content of Mt. Dew. It has to be off the charts. Sugar + Caffeine= Wired at work!bud

Starbucks is good....very good. It's got a much more genuine flavor than folgers or maxwell house, I can tell that and I'm not a hardcore coffee guy....although....I'd have to agree at the per cup price of $4 dollars its still not quite the life's greatest experience it should be. Now...if you're brewing at home like bud said he usually does, then I can come much closer to justifying the cost, but other than that I'll stick to the nasty watered down folgers and maxwell house with some good ole' dairy mate french vanilla....

Double Shot Esspresso = Liquid SpeedI Work 10 hours a day washing dishes for Outback, and boy, 2 of those bad boys, I can't stop moving, hence I just got off work, and now I'm wired, speaking in a message board, instead of takin my *** to bed. Caffiene is GRRREEEAAAAATTT! lol. Oh, yea, the actual Starbucks places are for yuppies to go sit, spend tons of cash on coffee and old pastrys, and sit with their laptops and try to look important. If I want to go out for coffee, I'll support the mom and pop places, or go to Denneys.

I agree about Seattle's Best Coffee. Its unquestionably better than Starbucks. Unfortunately its still overpriced.

[Insert rant about disliking Seattle]

I tend to prefer the small coffee/soup/sandwich shops. They serve the same thing, but they're MUCH cheaper and the line isnt so damn long. Tully's coffee is good too -- last time I had it in Spokane it was about 1/2 the price of Starbucks.

want to have fun at Starbucks? Go in and order coffee. Plain, black coffee, no caramel, no magic sprinkles, no spooge. The manager was stumped "yeah let me have a coffee""would you like a caramel macchiato or a frappachino"?"No, just coffee"(looks at board) "sir we don't have just coffee""That's kind of stupid don't you think? A coffee shop that doesn't sell coffee""when you put it that way it is kind of funny""ah, gimme a cappuchino I guess, It's the closest thing to coffee you got. I'll just look pissed off when I drink it, try to salvage some of my manhood while I drink the gay coffee"

My can of Rockstar sitting on my desk kills all your coffe AND Mt. Poo. AND it tastes good to boot. I win. I'm the coolest. Now, where can I get a Starbucks cup to put it in?

Wawa 4life.

Unfortunately I'm about 800 miles away from one now...

On my Europe trip I discovered there is a Starbucks located about 50 yards from the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. So conspicious, in fact, that you almost couldn't take a picture without getting the stupid logo in your lens. I was very annoyed. Starbucks must die.

Guys, really, it's a coffee chain. If you don't like it, don't go. They DO have regular, black coffee that is brewed fresh every hour. I don't know of any other place that would brew a pot fresh for a customer if they requested it or if the barista thought it wasn't up to par. The largest size, a venti, is $1.80, which isn't a hell of a lot more than the garbage at Denny's, McDonalds, gas stations and truck stops but it is truly better coffee.

The $4 coffee that everyone is talking about is the mocha or latte or equivalent. This is not just a regular cup of black coffee, so let's at least get the facts straight. This is disinformation just the same as people giving specs on twin-turbo SR20's.

As a point of fact, Starbucks does a lot of good in the world of coffee business. They buy from small as well as large growers in bassackwards small countries around the world. They offer a lot of opportunity to employees and have excellent benefits. Anyone who has ever worked there, such as myself, or knows someone who works there knows this.

The best part is that employees get a free pound of whole bean coffee every week. They also get all the coffee drinks they can drink when they're working. 'Bucks also donates the pastries they don't sell to homeless shelters weekly.

And now you know the rest of the story...

This is absolutely true, which is why I support their company. My sister has worked there on and off for the past three years, and they treat their employees like gold.

Also, they do a lot of good for the community. While my sister was working a Army service man came in and told her this was the first cup of coffee he was going to have in the states (just got back from Iraq). Naturally, he got it for free, but my sister felt that wasn't enough. She talked to the managers, and they set up a program for military people to get free bags of coffee every month.

Has anybody seen that episode of the simpsons where bart gets an earring?

As he's walking out of the shop, in the back ground they show all of the other stores being changed into StarBucks.

LOL

I've never had as much as a sip of coffee. I've lived off soda but maybe I'll have to change that, as I can be a real zombie in the mornings when I first wake up... My dad never got into coffee so I guess that's why I didn't either. (my stepmother on the other hand was addicted)

I don't think I could spend $2 on a cup of black coffee unless it had free refills. I've never been to starbucks. i always go to diners at like 3am and get at least 3 cups of coffee for like a little over a $1. Plus they brew it strong which is nice. Then I get chicken wings and I'm set for an hour or two.

Starbucks is ok, at least when I walk into one I can count on a known commodity. I've had it in D.C., L.A., Tokyo and Okinawa and it's all the same. If the product is good and consistent I come back.
