That's exactly what I was looking for, thank you. It's just odd that it started doing it about a week ago and only on that one comp. I don't think it's the Mac OS security update because it's not happening with the MacPro I'm currently on. I'll clear out all of my cache, cookies and history(same as cache?) and see what happens. I'm not blaming the software for the signouts, just the redirection issue when signing back in. Are you aware of that issue?AZhitman wrote:No bans today.
V, try clearing out your browser cache, cookies, etc. It's not a problem with the forum. You're knowledgeable about this stuff, and as such, should know it's a bug in browsers where sometime that just happens with certain sites. There's really no other way to explain it - if it works for some users, then it's working and anyone who has an issue with it working has the issue in relation to something on their computer...could be browser cache, corrupted cookies, plugins, or about 100 other different variables.
I have a certain PC that NEVER logs me off, even though my settings are different from yours (I prefer having to log in more frequently, for security reasons). To blame the forum software is short-sighted and ignores the thousands of other users who never have an issue with it.
Again, if it happened in ALL browsers, on ALL computers, it'd point to the forums. But it doesn't. There's a lot more variables on your end than there are on ours.
Sorry if that's not the answer you wanted.
Good thing he's got you to tickle his sack. Now stay out of the conversation if you don't have anything to add, which seems to be the case with all of your posts.MellowS13 wrote:dude. stop being an as5!
Greg is trying to help you out, and this is how you repay him???
grow the fucck up!
Thank you despite the pointless jab. I'll do that when I get back to my MacBook Pro.infiniti_lineup wrote:Instead of acting like anlike Empty V, I'll try to help proactively with the issue.

I also access NICO with a MacBook Pro and am experiencing the same issue with being signed out frequently before submitting a post or simply while browsing. I'm on Safari (Version 5.0 (5533.16)) and using Mac OS X (Version 10.5.8). This issue started happening about ~1 1/2 months ago - at first I thought it was an issue with my ISP (who uses dynamic IPs) and was changing my IP address frequently, thus causing the forum software to sign me out automatically upon recognizing that I am not signed in with the same IP Address. Decided it wasn't a big deal, dealt with the extra sign ins, and didn't think anything more of it.
A couple days later I was signed into my NICO account at my home IP and then went to a coffee shop with free WiFi. When I accessed NICO there I realized something - I was still signed in, yet the Coffee Shop obviously doesn't have the same IP Address as my home ISP.
How does this information help? This means that the NICO forum does not rely on IP Addresses to check user sessions, but rather uses cookies. Knowing that the issue with being signed out automatically lies within the forum cookies helps us (or at least - me) out tremendously.
From there (and back at my home), I reset Safari (Top Menu > Safari > Reset Safari), leaving every option checked except for "Close All Windows" and "Remove All Saved Names and Passwords". I also changed the Accept Cookies option in the Security of the Safari Preferences (Top Menu > Safari > Preferences > Security > Accept Cookies) to "Only from sites that I visit" to ensure that a third-party advertiser's cookies on NICO weren't accidently changing the cookies, if that was even possible. On the next sign in to NICO, I logged in and made sure to check the Automatically log me in box.
I haven't had any issues since.
I felt tickle was more appropriate, way to call me out skippy. So he's says something insulting, then i defend myself immaturely by saying something insulting, then you say something insulting(just to show that you're a douche sprinkled with kindness), and I then I say something insulting and then you say something insulting. If I'm an idiot then you're just as incompetent. It never ceases to amaze me how much hypocrisy is on this forum. I try to get a simple answer to a simple question that I honestly need help with and all of the half-a-tards chime.infiniti_lineup wrote:Nice quick edit from "lick his sack" to "tickle his sack". Too bad neither are appropriate and just prove that you're an idiot.
Another solution to this whole issue would be having a ban put on your IP Address by an Administrator. I'm sure that isn't too far down the road if you keep acting like this.
