We have emissions testing to....always ways around it

I have it beat the best tho....I have "collectors plates" on my Z. No emissions, no hassle about loudness, ride height, nothing. Gotta love the benefits that they give to people trying to start a collection. Above the law

I really have not had a hard time finding parts myself. Exhaust is all SR pieces. Intercooler is for an SR. The ECU can be socketed and reflashed like any other Nissan ECU so that is no problem. I picked up 460cc injectors from a FC3S S4 TII so no problems there. Really the only problem I have run into yet is a prefabbed hard coldpipe.

that is true, but i think what people are saying is that they dont want to have to do what you did, get parts from other cars.

i dont think its a bad idea, if ti works; hell do it and get it done

the ignorance i mentioned was because all you hear about is SR everywhere (repost)

also i mean that i cant find many people around here who know about them enough to get a feeling for it.

On a side note, im really liking the powerband in those little guys...

I have a S13 and I think it'd be cool to have one, but lack of mods sucks imo. Either engine is awesome to go with. Just up to your personal preference. I know I eventually want to go SR.

Although this CA is hot.....

It's awesome you won H.I.N: Hottest Performance Car (1st)! I don't know when the Version Select cars were pulling in it sounded like it had a CA. Cause that white S13 def had a SR

That throttle body design absolutly identifys it as an SR. The CA has a plenum just like the one on the SOHC KA motors do. Totally different right there.

Anyway, there is one guy selling a ca in the parts forum as we speak.

I think abit of the ignorance traces to what rico05 and drifter_for_life06 were discussing. Many don't want to put the time and research to find out which parts COULD work in their car. They just want to get the parts right off of the shelves and put it in.

What years did they make the CA? Many states, mine included I think, require that a new engine be newer than the host car. Shouldn't be a problem since I own a 1992, but just asking.

CA was made in Japan from 88-89 (where the 180SX gets its name) In Europe, because of the tax structure of some countries (where car tax is calculated by what engine diplancement is in countires like England and as far as Thailand) the CA was sold along side the SR (I am not totally sure to what year, but at least 1994). In the UK Spec CAs, the head and valiable volume intake plenum system were revised. We CA owners are always on the hunt for a UK head and mani setup.

It is really not an issue of parts that "could" fit. This is like using a KA24E MAF on an SR. These parts DO in fact fit w/o ANY modification or stress. The swap was actually easier than an SR swap as well (comming from a guy who owns an SR and has done several SR swaps) I love my CA and would never cahnge my motor for anything.

dfw240_EE: I am also a Tejas resident. I have never heard that law. I have never had any problems.

Oh, and um guys...you really should be ashamed. That is an S13 SR20DET in the pic. Compare the valve covers to mine. Also notice that the CAS is on the driver's side not on the front like on my CA (and on the RB as well )

Well, this was hearsay I admit, but hearsay from a reliable source at local Autocross.

But he could have been mistaken. It could be a law, but noone at inspection bothers to look further into it.

Rico, you're not the only CA in College Station

Look for a maroon hatch w/ a Greddy exhaust, lowered on SE's.

parts aren't that hard to come by. look around on ebay and there is plenty of stuff to pick-up. also, replacment parts are easy to find as well. seeing as the 88 pulsar NX SE came with an NA version of the DET. water pumps. timing belts, oil pumps, coil packs, ETC are all easy to find. I Love the power band of this car as well. hit the boost and let the butterflys open and your off.
