I never called ne one a loser...I'm not that kind of guy. and I do know something, actually a lot of things... People like me? I don't even know what that means... I'm just on here to learn and help other people learn how ever I can.

I just think that it should be taken a closer look at for the people that don't have thousands of $ to blow on an ecu... It is a great system and I wish more people with 240's would try it, I am sure many would be very surprised at what it is capable of. I would even like to help put together a how-to or a gen. info on it. The reason not many people use it, is because it is not plug and play like an AEM. If we had more info here about it I really, really think more people would use it.

and the timing retard via intake temps thing....the megasquirt does that, and if you know the stoichiometric % of a fuel (any fuel) you can use it with megasquirt too ....you should look into the upgrades that have taken place of the years before making anymore statements. I am not dissin the other system, but check out what you can do with little money!

Dude, I said the MS is good. And any wideband can be used to tune somthing to any specific stoich...

I'm not anti info, I'm not anti MS. Hell, if anything, I'm anti standalone. I simply said it wasn't the best...and it isn't.

By timing vs intake temps I was talking abouit designing my own blackbox for people to use. Somthing extremely cheap...get it.

I'm all about options...

Why don't you put a decent article together about MS...thats how you share info. Not just a link or relink...put somthing together to contribute to Nico. Then people will gain interest. Hell, I'll be swapping a LS1 or VH45 into my 240 real soon, its its the ****, then I'll probably use it myself.

I can't afford EMS...

Yeah, I'd like to do that...I just need some info on what people would look for in a standalone. Then I can compare the MS to "what people want" and compare with the other options out there. If you could help me out WD that would be cool...

Man, you and I both know what people want. We want everything for as cheap as possible with as little work as possible. Thats why JWT was so popular for so long. HE just burns so generic tunes on a ecu and you give him 500 bones. Devious could make a killing doing that I bet.

We could do a comparison between the most common tuning options. Lets say we look at certain points like Car and Driver does for a writeup. Ease of use, ease of install, options available, etc. Thats just off the top of my head. We could really make this one of the best threads on Nico as far as tuning goes. If we could get all of the info consolidated into one thread, and weed out the crap from the facts...I mean everything, wiring up a SAFC to tuning the MS...we'd have one of the best writeups on the entire WEB. This will take time, which I happen to have I can also give all oour info over to Chopp and he can make it an article for the homepage. Anyone who wants to look at the options will simply have to review one thread. We can link as many things as we want. I can host every pic and setup anything we want in the forum.

To start, lets come up with a format to compare all of our options. I'll make a thread on this topic now. That way the members can give us there opinion on what they want. We can go from there

Wow. I am so happy that this is the direction this thread took. WD, where is the new thread, i can't find it.

Also, any information or progress of mine regarding this matter will be documented and posted, that's for certain.

Cool....I am definitely down for whatever. I just think that some of the "lazy people" will look at ease of install as better, which is not always the case. Let's aim high and try to leave personal opinion out of it. I'm happy to help out NICO for all the stuff I've learned here. We've got a lot of work to do!

I'm currently in the middle of megasquirting my ka-t. I'm going with the edis setup as well and just got done making the block off plate for the dizzy/mounting bracket for the coil pack. Sorry to bring this thread back to life but I just now saw and read through this thread and thought I should share.
