Thanks.....I just measured my rims backspacing and here's what i got....

width of rim divided by 2 = center of rim, then subtract that from the backspacing and that gives you the offset....Backspacing = the measure from where the rim mounts to the hub, to the backside of the rim.

18x8 is 9" wide with a 5" backspacing = +13mm offset18x9 is 10" wide with a 5 and 5/8" backspace = +16 offset

I think the seller i got the rims from thought an 8" rim is actually 8" but its not.

I measured one of my old school volk GT-U 16x8 + 35 4x114.3 and got a backspacing of 5 and 3/4" which = +33 offset.

Also i took the measurement for the rear, from inside of wheel well to inside of my rolled fenders and got 11"....So if you want to fit a 10" wide rim that is actually 11" wide. Then a offset of +45 would make the rim touch the wheel well. So if you got a +30 to+40 , rolled/pulled your fender alot then you could make a 10" fit but a +40 would be pretty close to touching the wheel well.

I hope that makes sense....

Well, the GT-Us don't come in 17 or at least I can't find them. So I'm still looking. Drift Aug.... hella nice, I'll shoot you a PM later.

...so I'm still on the prowl for wheels.

10 inch is too wide to be really effective. FWIK--The point of running a wide wheels is too be able to fit a wider tire on the wheel without sacrificing the sidewall functionality.

If you take a ten inch wheel sna strech a tire like a 225 on it--thats the dumbest, ugliest thing you could do. It doesnt serve any purpose other than being able to drift better--and sorry--but no one should invest in expensive 10 inch wheels if theyw ant to drift--get cheap 16's and slide your way to happiness. Dont waste 2500 bucks on 10" wide wheels alone only to ghetto them up by stretching 225 on them.a 10" wheel can fit a 255 on it and still be a *little* streched--look pretty damn good and best of all--be FULLY functional. If you can see the lip from the rear of the car--its too stretched.

once again--dont waste money on big wheels--like chet said--9 wides are PLENTY for good grip and for looks, offset, tire selection, etc, etc.

If you want wide looking wheels--go with a good offset and a decent width--example--17x9 with a 35mm(or 27) rear offset and a 17x8 with a 27mm offset front. nice fitment for both s13 and s14 alike.

i think 9's in the back would be best for S13... i don't see any point in getting 10's in the back and use extreme -camber to pull it in to flush the fender, this compromises performance of the tires; unless you're using wide body flares.

i'm getting my rims in size: 17x8, 17x9

LOL, I don't know what you said but I'm sure it was funny, lol:thinker

Boostsfed The wheels i'm currently looking at don't come in 17s, other wise I would. I'm looking at the LE CE28 Volks with the dish (pictured here):

I think the gold will set off the black and the Grams Light Aero kit I'm looking into getting.

I don't think i'll need to flare my fenders to get 18x8, 18x9 size wheels under the stock fenders. If I need to I guess I will. However if it does become to much drama to have these wheels fit nicely I might settle for the regular CE28N wheels in bronze: heres that wheel on an FD:

i have noticed that the car wil have a little noticeable geargin difference with 18's. Better make sure you get lightweight ones if you get 18's. !7's--thats the biggest id go on my car--but to each their own.

well i was thinking about getting the regular CE28N's in 17x8 front and 17x9 rear

if I decide to go with the 18'' Limited Edition CE28N's then i'll go with 18x8 18x9. But those would be my straight show wheels probably, lol. Those FYI are the gold center ones with the polished lip.

So I might just do that cause 18'' tires would be $$ to replace, lol. I do plan on driving the car daily and autox road racing every now and then.

But it looks like thats gonna be my color scheme black with bronze, or black with the gold center and polished lip. I found a pic of a S2K that has the color scheme i'm going for:

18x8 +35 front and rear in this photo with 245x40x18s

I also run a 18x8.5 in the rear same tires.

Depending on the track I will run .25 to .50 wheelspacers also. this is all with coilovers in the front and rear.

ok nvm i found it on 5zigens web site..... now would puytting a 245 tire on a 9.5 inch rim be too much of a stretch if im trying to not put too much stress on the tire... because the price difference between 245's and 255's on tire rack for 18 inch rims is about 60 bucks

not trying to jack the thread but will 19's fit on a S13? Like was stated earlier, I don't care about speed and functionality. I am going for bling factor. I already have a race car, my S13 vert is my pimpmobile.

Will 19's fit?

obviously, any rim will fit as long as the overall diameter of the tires you're using are similar to stock.

that's basically what "plus-sizing" is; one runs a lower profile tire and a larger diameter wheel to get a similar overall diameter.

but too low profile of a tire isn't that great of an idea, either. like x-to-the-z-xzhibit said in one episode of pimp my ride, "i ain't got the 26's on my ride cause it ain't comfortable, so i got the 24's instead"
