Jesus Christ this thread is out of control.

PMs are not going to end our existence as we know it, people, this IS NOT "The year we made contact 2010", people...

No it's not.

Post a position, support it, and move on.

The only reason I'd use PM's is if I want to contact someone for something in the classifieds.

Otherwise I find them rather unrewarding, mostly for the same reason as before; if you want to ask/answer a question, post it publicly so everyone else can also benefit from it.

The majority has spoken. If this was an election, it would be considered a massive landslide by the opposition. Of course the minority has to make grand arguments because they are losing badly.

The democracy as spoken with votes and they want PMs.

Greg, you lost the vote, don't be a Castro.

no matter what you ask, members will <always> answer the question offering a feature with "yes".

It is the job of site staff to think of all the ramifications of adding a given feature.

Don't misinterpret my redirection of this thread to opposition.

Besides, haven't you been paying attention to US politics? Popular vote means nothing... Dear Leader knows what's best for us.

Carry on!

Hell, I don't care if you buy from them, although you're only taking away from the companies that support our community...

But i WOULD like the opportunity to know which companies don't have the sack to actually just violate the rules in broad daylight.
Greg, I forwarded one to you that I got a couple hours ago. This one wasn't even from a WTB thread. This was someone apparently stalking the Advertiser's Marketplace that had noticed a certain selection of Sonic Motor's wheels had gone on back order.

I'm for them. Think of the space you would save with the decreased posting and storage needed to keep old posts.
