ah, the famous words as it relates to drifting...

I guess you're not entirely wrong. even though many drifting events are timed, it isn't everything. the combination of skill, speed, and style determine the winners. I would argue though that it is a motorsport that takes quite a bit of skill, and also that many of the D1 drivers also are very competitive in JGTC. It's just that people say it sometimes as a put down to disguise their own ignorance. Not saying that you mean it that way, but you should check it out, and even try it. It will earn a new level of respect, and you may even find you like it, especially that you don't have to run 12's to be competitive, something that comes in handy when you have a 240.

bout time someone mentioned Colin McRae. For those that dont know who he is, he is one of the WRC drivers for team Ford. He pilots the Focus.

Colin McRae drives for Citroen. He used to drive for Ford, and kept having mechanical failures, even burned a Focus completely to the ground in a rally last season. Same for Carlos Sainz, drove for Ford, now drives for Citroen. Despite all the crap people say about the French, Peugeot and Citroen make some great rally cars.

I used to work in a shop that was one of the only shops in town willing to even look at a Peugeot. I had to pull an automatic transmission out of a junked one in a dirt lot, in the rain, the car on jackstands and me on a creeper. NOT FUN. There's a reason they stopped importing them in the mid-80s, they're crap!

People often say that WRC has the best drivers in the world. Considering they see every condition on every type of road surface....I'd have to agree. The thing I like about F1, WRC, and MotoGP is they are all at the very peak of technology...

Marcus Gronholm is this generation's best WRC driver. Most stage wins, most rally wins, most championships.

Schumacher/Ferrari are the best driver/team by far. See what money can do? More wins, more championships.

Valentino Rossi is the best rider on the most technologically advanced race bikes in the world. Current champion, he'll stay at or near the top, until he switches to the new Ducati GP team, where he'll fittingly finish his career with an Italian team. The guy is light years ahead of his competition. Last year he stuck a % sticker next to his bike number, so it would read "46%". Putting the world on notice that he can win without trying, and GP is easy for him. He's arrogant, c0cky, and has the wins/championships to back it up.

Rossi is the f---in' man, and arguably the best racer at his profession. He's gonna give (damn, I forgot his name, he won like 5 championships before rossi got there...) a damn good run for his money when it's all said and done.
