Who has some projects in the works? This forum is lacking some good threads and DIY projects. Anyone have any old idea's they want to throw around? I'm about ready to start my next re-re-rebuild of my S14...lol. Anyone doing a bare bones el-cheapo build up with used parts?

My full engine build is now coming to a close. You have already seen the progress in the thread titled "Engine p0rn Inside", or something along those lines.

However, the final piece should be complete by the middle or end of next week. I'll provide a full DIY on it. It's the custom intake manifold using ITB's and the stock runner section. I'll be sure to post it up as soon as it's finished.

I also have a custom intercooler sprayer that I could post up, if anyone is interested. It shows how to plumb it into the washer fluid reservoir and all that jazz. Seems to work well for me.

Yeah dude, my daily is a old 88 K5 Blazer, gets about 12 miles to the gallon. I just fixed the power steering on her today, she's a ***** driving without that. Good fore arm workout though.

Did you want the intercooler sprayer written up, WD? It's nothin' amazing, but seems to help with low speed events, such as autoX, and staging at the strip, etc. I could throw together a writeup tomorrow.

Hells yeah man, just make it a thread and I'll add in whatever I have. I got into the DIY alky injection and water injection quite a bit in Japan. I bet together we can make one hell of a good DIY thread.

I should be starting my KA-T #2 project this winter, should include 50 trim turbo, enthalpy tune and 550cc injectors. Should be fun. How do I post pics anyway?

In work as we speak bro. I may actually start selling custom drag kits. Built with a small fluid container, say just enough for 2 passes on max spray. I'm reconstructing a 2 or 3 stage for my 240 now.

There's alwasy propane injection as well. I still love that idea, high octane for 20 bucks a month...very nice. I bet that would let us run 87 octane. Have the propane trigger on boost...instant 100 octane.

I'll do up a couple nice threads about both of the above topics. That goes for anyone else who wants to toss any idea threads around. This is how great projects come to life.

Propane injection sounds like an awesome idea, there are two things that draw me away form it though.

1.) On a diesel truck I know that you mount the tank in the bed of the truck. I am not real fond of driving around with a loaded propane tank in my hatch. I really don't wish to multiply my chances of dieing in a fiery auto crash.

2.) If it goes anything like all of my projects do. It will eventually start leaking. which again leads me back to the whole firey auto crash.

I would still ike to see a write up on it so, get crackin!

HAHAHA, I just pee'd a little...d!ck.

If monuted well, which mine will be, if your car does wreck and actually catch fire, the gas tank will explode before the propane tank does, I was thinking of a minit roll cage around the bottle, that would look pretty when you pop the trunk. Make it all bling bling out of stainless.

I've got another 240sx project still in the research and design phase... but it's top secret as of right now. one hint is that's it's never been done before. Unfortunately I'll have to sell my current kat 240sx so i have money for the parts and another shell... but it'll be worth it.

i just realized..tiger.. your ic is slanted..

i'd be running :

t3/t4 50trim .63 hotel-cheapo manifoldcustom dphopefully get my hands on some 550cc injectors.. or i'm looking into modding an extra set of injectors i got.hopefully run ecu tune with safc2 for fine tune.. but i'd probably run safc2 @ 7psi for some time before i get my hands on wb02+daughterboard chip+eprom burner..gotta change out my wheels+tires, 18"s = teh sux. they look decent, but suck in any other way.run tial 38mm wg with any bov i can get my hands on.. also run a blow thru setup with z32 mafs when i go with the ecu chip.

i'd be running on real minor mods for this winter..stock maf,probably 370ccsame turbosame bov/wgexisiting exhaust/mani/make dp.and probably safc2 for fuel @ 7psi.

dont expect reaching above 200 with this setup

Yeah, I know it's slanted.. :-p

The cold pipe was made to fit, I did an SR swap from my CA and the cold pipe wouldn't fit right so we cut it(it had sub injectors on it) and rigged something up.. I could have easily went and bought a new cold pipe but I didn't... I just spent money on other crap like defi gauges. I do need a cold pipe though.. I gave the sub injector section to a friend of mine for being so cool to me while I was there... D's Garage. ;-)

I don't need a timing control device do i? Another thing, I have been out there playing with my timing because to get it on 20deg BTDC.. I do get it on time but the thing is that my dizzy is advanced all the way and it's not sitting in the middle like it should... I took it out so many times and finally got it running again. I know this isn't on topic but I thought I would mention because we are talking about timing control devices.

The problem with Propane injection is that propane does not have the energy gasoline does. And it would displace gasoline, causing an overall loss of power.

I will be posting 1 1/2 years of work with pictures of my 240sx going from a simple stock 240sx to a fully build ka-t silvia. I'm almost done with the car and I will be posting a new thread.
