Ok im getting extremely frustrated...the instructions are NOT helpful..well to an extent..at least i know which washers go where and which nuts go where etc...But I do not ****ing understand if im doing it right or not..It says specificaly not to over tighten the bushings on the endlinks IE compress them. It says the endlinks are to be "straight" Does this mean...in relation to the control arm?? The ground?? The sway bar???? The endlinks are angled to the INSIDE of the car off center of the control arm so that when i tighten the nuts , it is compressing the bushing on ONE side and squishing the other side out of the washer...I need to find my digi cam and post pics i suppose...
Can someone give me some common trouble shooting tips?? I have a couple questions..Right now i ave the rear control arms resting on jack stands to put it at *ride height* per the instructions.
1. When it says the endlinks are to be straight..In relation to what??
2.WHat way are the ****ing damn bushings supposed to go on the end links, i ask because a key to tightening them properly is that you "tighten them untill the washer no longer spins on the bushing" Does this mean the pointy end of the bushings should be towards the washer? (ie NOT facing control arm)
3. I dont want to pre load the bar..So i want both endlinks adjusted the same..i figured the easiest way to do this was put the bottom two nuts full tight (to the bottom of the end link, no more thread) and only tighten from the top..But when i do this it squishes the top bushing out ALOT as i try to pull the endlink up through the control arm to pick up the slack...Will this work?? Im just so confused...Every thing i try it just DOESNT look right...
Should i tighten the endlinks to the control arm FIRST? then fit the sway bar?? Or should i fit the endlinks to the sway bar first THEN put it through the control arm ? BAH!! Im also having to use combination hand wrenches for everything ..so it takes ALOT of time for me to try diff configurations ..which is why im getting really frustrated.
