Right now Im in the process of installing an Alchohol injection system into my S14 with a Redtop SR20DET, for the system to work corectly I need a tachometer signal wire that fires once every engine revolution, its the same wire I would use if I was installing an aftermarket tach. If this had a normal ignition system with a distributer and whatnot I would just use the wire on the coil, but with the Direct spark system Im not sure what wire to use, Im thinking I either need to use the signal from the ECU for the tach or one of the wires on the No 1 coil

Any Help is appreciated, and yes I seached, I really want to get this system working befor the weekend

Thanks in advance for the help

Ian

well, I know which wire it is on the ECU, but Im not sure if this is the wire I should use, Im debating between a wire on the CAS, the ground for the No 1 coil, or the ECU tach signal

well I tried using the tach signal wire on the ECU, and the system did not activate, I dont think that wire produces the right kind of signal, I need a 1 pulse per rotation signal, cmon guys help me out here.

look at the back of ur valvecover on the coil harness, there should be like a black wire that makes a loop on the outside of the harness & that is what u would use in order to check the timing so im assuming that its a good tack signal that fires once oer revolution

Isn't there a tach signal coming from the computer to the dash, orange wire maybe?

differant tachs work with differant signals, Autometer sells a special unit to connect a tach to a vehicle with direct ignition

stop thread jacking
