I have a 2006 350z. I am wanting to add a plenum spacer and i was just wondering if anyone know which is the better to go with. I've heard motordyne makes a good one but wasnt sure what else was out there. I want the most performance out of it i can possibly get. If anyone has any info i would be very appreciative.

Motordyne makes a fine plenum, but unless you've got an automatic transmission it's not going to do you any good. You'll need to get the MREV 2 Manifold to see any difference on the VQ35 RevUp.

That being said, the two mods together on the RevUp are pretty potent for just being a pair of bolt-ons.

I was told that the 06 engine could still benefit from the plenum spacer not just the autos. The 06 motor is not the same as the 07 08.

Carefully, re-read my previous post where I specifically make mention of Motordyne.

Now go to Motordyne's website and read through the FAQ, specifically...

A: No. The spacer by itself doesn't do anything on the stock REVUP lower collector. It must be used with the MREV2.

I'll just jump in here before you post anything else that's inaccurate.

No, it doesn't, the '07 & '08's do not have the RevUp version of the VQ35, they have a different version of the VQ, the VQ3HR. The RevUp is only on the '05 35th Anniversary & Track model Z's and all '06 Z's with a 6 speed transmission.

I'm just trying to save you some needless spending here. Buying the Moto plenum spacer for the RevUp without having the MREV collector is like putting an intercooler on a car with no super/turbo charger - it's not going to give you any benefits.

As for this...

In the dictionary, between me and you you'll find sarcasm. ;)

The 2003 350Z does not have the Revup. That's not what BB said. He said the 2005 aniversary and the track model. Also, it's not the VQ35DEHR....it's VQ35HR. There's no DE in it.

What I was trying to say was the 2007, 2008 and 2009 350Z have the VQ35HR. It's not the VQ35DEHR - there's no such thing. The 2003 through 2006 350Z all have the VQ35DE. As mentioned above, some have the Revup depending on the year and model. All I was saying is there's the VQ35DE and the VQ35HR...there's no such thing as a VQ35DEHR.

Thanks for helping Chief, I don't think he gets it though. He might not ever get it, but I'd have much less problem if the OP were a bit more accepting of the information we're giving him since he came to us.

I've always found it odd when people come here for information and then when they get it they want to dispute it. I mean, if they're not going to listen don't waste others' time asking for help in the first place.

Lightning, do me a favour. Take a look at your tach, I bet it redlines at 7000 rpm doesn't it? The regular VQ35DE in the Z redlines at 6600 rpm. Think about it - 6600 rpm vs 7000 rpm, RevUp...get it? Either way do us a favour and post a before and after dyno once you get the Moto spacer on your Z.

I like confirming what I already know.

I have a REV-UP (06 convertible, grand touring) and I run the motordyne plenum spacer 5/16 thermal ISO kit & the MREV 2 Manifold... This is the way to do it. :)

Were you pushing it all the way or did it not get raspy at higher rpms?

In first, second and third gear... I was not going to the rev-limiter. So, I was shifting early. I kept it going in fourth.
