These kids these days are sooo spoiled and rude. My little cousin has a ps 3 and a flat screen to him self in his room, at the age of 8. He always wants to rub it in my face and i am 13 years older than him, so i sit quiet and take it and after taking it i sat and tried to explain to him how when i used to be his age i earned the money to afford a used S nes and the fact that he is spoiled. He than said "Well than i dont have to blow my video games to play with them". I DIED INSIDE AND WAS ABOUT TO HuRT HIM. FML Today i was greeted by this f***ing group on facebook which is titled as the title of this thread, which was suggested by him.

HA HA...I can remember Ataris. I had one of those.There was also the ColecoVision, Commadore64, Odessey2 and Intellivision. That's old school for me.

i'll admit i am spoiled by hi-def graphics and online capabilities of modern systems, but theres something about a game with 8-bit graphics and a controller with a d-pad and a couple of buttons that still provides just as much entertainment as a 360 or ps3

Capcom just released Dark Void Zero for the DSi. It's an original NES game that they shelved when the SNES came out. They finished it and released it for $5 on the DSi store.

There will always be someone older saying how the younger generations are spoiled because of (insert technology here).

I'm coming up on 20 now and the first console I played (which was my dads) was a Sega Genesis. After I would play my uncles Gameboy (the big fatty ones that had games like paperboy).

I still have never bought my own system, and continue to share systems with others (me and my dad share a xbox360, I use my brothers ps3).

I do remember blowing on the cartridges for 64 and sega though

In middle school it was pinball....In high school it was Galaga, asteroids and others.....

f*** that. I am glad we had to blow on games.

It made it that much better when the damn thing finally worked. I remember blowing till dizzy, having to get that one kid who had the best technique down... How even once you got the f***er spotless, it was still a crapshoot if the game was gonna stay pushed down, or if it would pop back up.

So many memories before the game even started. What is he going to remember, inserting a CD?

If you REALLY want a worthwhile workout before playing your game, just go buy a Sega 32x. You don't just have to blow on the game. You have to blow on the damn console.

Some friends and I played nfl blitz, and mortal kombat 4 on n64 a few days ago. I got so mad playing nfl blitz, it reminded me of how mad I used to get when I was little. f*** that game, but I love it.

I'm no help. My 14yo step daughter has a TV, DVD player and VCR in her bedroom. The spare bedroom has been turned into a TV room for her too and there's a bigger TV, PS2, DVD player and a whole Kenwood rack system in there. In my basement she has her Wii connected to my "old" 36" hi-def TV. Kid is spoiled and doesn't understand it......Between her and my kids (and step kids when they were younger) I got/get sooooo fed up with hearing "I'm bored, there's nothing to do".....

STFU and go play on your game systems, watch TV or play on your friggen ipod or laptop

Yeah, you have to blow out the Genesis, too. But the 32x goes between the cartridge and the Genesis, so you have to blow in it as well.

Mann if only i got to go back in time and patented the pressurized keyboard cleaner woow imagine how much money i would have made just by marketing it to the gaming community. a nice 15 inch long can that was 2 inches thick, every kid, adult, man, woman would use it all the time. lmfaooo

They had TONS of kits for cleaning games.

Indeed. I had two different ones for my NES. One of them only cleaned the NES side, but the other one cleaned the games, too.

I eventually realized there was little difference between that, and a q-tip soaked in alcohol. But I had a kit that had 3-4 brushes for the games, and one for the system.

And yet we still blew. Go figure.

I remember renting games for $1 at PharMor. They were popular due to the price, so games were heavily abused and always filthy. Thankfully, dad had plenty of supplies for cleaning electronics.

My parents also said that if I wanted to rent a game, I had to pay for it myself, so I collected pennies and brought a sack of just over 100 to the lady at the counter. Every weekend I'd show up and she'd have to count them all.
