i do not have stock HID's although i wish, cuz that would be awesome! lol i just have stock 2009 3.5 headlights, and my fog lights sitting in my garage lol

Blackmobile wrote:the reason the oem highs light up the road so much better is partially because they're aimed much higher. this lights up more of the road ahead of you, but also blinds oncoming drivers. if you've driven around with your highbeams on and you feel like it's still not bright enough, then you may want to upgrade to hid highs too, but otherwise just stick to just changing your lows. your lows are your everyday lights so those are more important to upgrade IMO. highs are rarely used and they already do a good job
ah, gotcha. thanks for the explanation. makes a lot more sense now. :bigthumb:

Uhhh dudes???...my highs and lows definitely do NOT work at the same time. I did specifically check this when I installed my HID lows to see what would happen in the event I switched back and forth between them. I had my girl sit in my car and flip low to high a few times while I was out in front. Fogs cut, so do lows.

This mean I has wiring problem? :wtf2:
most likely. are you using 55w? might want to look into getting the relay harness... the only other thing i can think of is that the fogs/lows together are putting too much strain on the electrical circuit.
then again i'm not really an expert on the wiring so if anyone knows please chime in.

Nah man 35W.

Faaaack! I wonder if maybe she was only switching it a little and not clicking it all the way over? You know, like how you can hold your blinker before it clicks and it will work as long as you hold it?

Just go outside and turn on your highs then look in front of your car. You can see if both of them are on. Hope there aren't any wiring problems for ya.

Yup, just checked it out. Full click to high beam and nothing coming from the lows. I wonder if its something in the wiring near the battery cause I chopped a big chunk of that up installing my amps. Whatever, not really worried about it, I never use my highs anyway.
