I'm looking to purchase these 18 in. wheels from a dealer on ebay, but he e-mailed me back saying that +48 wouldn't fit on a Q45. Is this true??

Width? Weight and strength?

He's probably correct. Stock is +45mm, so wider than 6.5" requires +38mm - +35mm, if not dropped.

I actually found another website that sold +42 offset. Sweet!!!

What size tires 18x7.5 would be best to run on a Q45 lowered on tein springs??

Really too narrow. You really want at least 8.5" width.

I bought 16x7.5 with a +38mm offset years ago and have been sorry ever since. Our '92 wasn't lowered and the front 255/50x16 would stick out a couple of mm's - insignificant really, but I didn't like the look. Plus, 245 is really the max for 7.5" rim. Anything more than +45 with a wider than stock tire will rub the inside of the tire when turning at nearly full lock. You should only consider widths of 8"-9.5" and +35-40 mm offset if lowered.

8.5 is really the best setup, I dont think you can fit 9s very well on the front.. Well you can but you cant fit a much bigger tire up front so might as well not run them.

Use that. use 8in at 35mm offset for perfection and go from there.

this is gonna be on a 97 Q45. This is a pic of the 18x7.5 rims on a LS400. Can I pull off that look/stance with the Q45?

Let me ask you this: Who cares?

Do you want your car to be an static ornament like a doorstop or are you interested in dynamic performance? If the former, then you might as well cast your wheels out of concrete and get that kewl "stance". Most on this board are oreinted towards performance, for what is the pleasure of owning these cars if the owner cannot experience the rewards of the vehicle performing at its top tier?

Few poseurs on this Forum.

are you rambling about???

emo, I'm sure you can get that stance at the sacrifice of ride quality....18x7.5 is a fairly small wheel and with a set of coilovers, you should be able to get about a 2 finger gap without rubbing...

I'm not too familiar with the offsets on lowered Qs but others have already answered that in this thread, so I will bow to their better knowledge...

Designed dynamic function vs. ignorant static fashion.

As simple as that, nothing more.

Does that help?

Don't mind him. Most of what he says should be ignored due to his opinions being worn on his sleeves in every thread he posts in. It gets QUITE annoying but you learn to read over the remarks.

Is 45mm the offset for a 2002 Q45 as well? What size wheel would you reccomend to run in order to keep some ride quality? I need to get some summer wheels and tires because i'm going to use the stockers for winter tires. thanks!!

Fact has a way of trumping fiction.

Newbies bring too much irrelevant from the Honda boards or wherever they emanate.

More facts for the ignorant to ignore, which is why they are so....well, self fulfilled.

Wheel is too narrow , offset too high.

Im running 18x9 +6 on a 94 Q45 with coilovers.(front)No rubbing, -2.0 degrees of camber No problem.

Y33s have alot more room than G50.

You should be able to go more agressive than the specs you posted.

WOW!

What has two thumbs and is getting Insurance coilovers for his Q?

Haitian_King. Nice to meet you.

Your car is wicked. How'd you get the clear headlamps? I love the look. See, your camber doesn't look goofy. The tire stretch on the rear is lovely as well.

Great job on that car man.

How'd you get them to fit? They sell them like that out there? I thought for the G50 (JHG50) in Japan, they had those big cinder block lamps.

If it wouldn't trouble you kind sir, perhaps you could direct an indigene to the scene to the correct place for purchasing these? If your old ones would fit on my 92, I'd take those if you're selling.

JDM headlights are for right hand drive - the beam pattern for the shoulder rises to the left instead of the right - it'll blind drivers in the oncoming lane.

Other than that ....

Is there a way to recalibrate the beam? If I go through wit h the President conversion, those lamps are way bigger than the Q lamps, hence making for a larger deviation from correct beam pattern.

Not sure if the President has the shoulder kickup, but if it does, no, can't be altered without somehow rebuilding the reflector housing.

And that would be insanely difficult right?

Damn. Hopefully the other driver will be Corey Hart.

Is the kick up really bad?
