I know this is usually fixed by ordering a ground wire set, which I am getting around to doing hopefully this week. However, considering I have a warranty on the vehicle, shoudl I just take it in and let them examine it?

More info: What is the standard Z idle, is it the last mark below the 1k, which Is 750? I notice occasionaly it has a hard time staying at that mark and will dip and increase more then a new(er) vehicle should. It also has a rough idle to it, and maybe a noise, I'm not sure. I suppose I should take it in under warranty, then order the grounding kit?

As for the wheels:

I am picking up a brand new set of Pirelli Directional ZR tires mounted on some sweet OZ wheels. Will this work for the Z?

35 mm offset all around245/45 in the front with 18x8 rim285/45 in the rear with 18x9 rim

Thanks!

Rough Idle:

Not an unusual problem with our cars. Not all 350Z's have it but a good number do.mine was fixed via a new MAF and a grounding kit.

Other causes have been found too, but most commonly it seems ot be grounds,... about 5 out of 7 PPL with this problem were able to fix it with a grounding kit but not all.

In some cases coil packs or MAFS were found at fault, in one rare incidence the injectors were leaking air at a gasket ( this one is pure hearsay and only one I heard with an injector replated problem).

Depending on the quality of your dealership , they will fix it under warranty no questions asked (albeit they will likely need it for a full day as its not easy to chase these idles down) or they may refuse to worry about it at all if it thorws no codes.

For the wheels/tire combo question I would check our Nico whee;/tire subforum with Moderators more knowledgable than the folks on the "other" sites about this:zeroforum?id=140

It sure does tuck nicely! My mechanic thought no way it would fit, then I told him to jack the car up and he was shocked how much room there is under there.. I think Nissan knew we wanted some big fat rims on the Z!

Pics tomorrow!
