I think the tire choice may have had somethng to do with it as well - Those BFG KDW's are awesome, but I'm not convinced they're the best for an F50.
With a 20" wheel he had to be riding on rubber bands... all that extra unsprung weight with low tires should elecit the afore-mentioned experience.

He said he had 20's, and mine are 19's . That's only 1" by my math. And I'm riding 35 series front and 30 rear, not much sidewall there. Also, his suspension is stock, mine is not. If anything, my car should ride like crap compared to a stock F50 w/ 20's.

I have my supra if I need to throw a car in the corner and stay in the 4-5K RPM range 40% of the time. The F50 doesn't allow you to take hard turns b/c the computers take over. So I stopped fighting it and just keep it looking stock with better wheels and tires and stay as close to stock ride as I can. I didn't like the road feel the 20" gave me.

22inch wheels installed with +31 offset. No rub, no fender rolling.

Actually, he was running 255/35 and 285/30, IIRC. Far from "rubber bands".

Sorry Kev, I didn't realize you were running 19's. Maybe you can figure out why his ride quality was poor, you're the expert.

I know you're just being sarcastic, but I drove a super charged F50 about a year or so ago, it was on 20's with stock suspension and I pushed that sucker hard. I have no idea what I'm talking about of course, but it rode nice 'n plush. However, I don't know what people are talking about that you can't push them in the corners because I sure did. The only thing I noticed was the TCS was always on when I gassed it and with that soft stock suspension it felt like it was popping wheelies.

So we need to see some pics of it off the lift to see how it looks with weight on them now! Are those wheels just temporary or are they just for test fitting the size / offset?

All you have to do is pull a few fuses. When I got the car, I could barley peel out, I got pissed so I took off the traction and the vdc fuses and now Im able to take corners hard and peel out even with brand new sticky toyo's and heavy wheels.

I'm with you on that part Kev - I drove my Q hard, especially with it being so tail-happy - It's nothing strange to see it coming out of a corner all crossed-up sideways with the reart tires at full-boil.

However, i understand where Pioneer is coming from - If you have another car thet's more adept at the twisties, it's easier just to "cruuuise" in the Q and save the mayhem for the "real" sports car.

I dont know if anyone can see the wheel perch in the picture by zooming in. My only concern is how close the wheel is to the perch which is about the width of a credit card. So is there anyway possible to increase the space between the perch in the tire? I've been told from everyone though that the perch will never hit the tire. Suprisingly the Q has alot of room in the wheel well and even turning all the way the tire never hits the inside of the car like others do.

I only had one wheel on at a time in the font and the rear... just testing for clearance and with the 31+ offset. They said I could even go further out so I might get the auto couture wheels ordered with a 30+ offset. I might have some pics this weekend. A guy at the shop had 22's on his altima so he might let me test them out for a day so I can see how they ride on my car.

WOW!!! I'd love to see an altima with 22s? It's a newer body style/latest model Altima, right?

By wheel perch do you mean control arm?? If it clears by the width of a credit card to the top control arm, it shouldn't ever touch, but you can always go with a narrower tire for a bit more space

I guess it would be the control arm. I guess it's been referred to me as the wheel perch that the spring sits it in. I would not be going any narrower but I think it would be just fine but the tire is just super close to it. Tires are 245/30/22

I ran a 20x10 with 285/35 and was borderline rubb on the rear. That was with +38 offset and there was not enough room b/w the tire and strut housing to slip my finger in between on the back side. I'm wondering how these guys are running 21x10 with a 295 without rubbing.
Did you have your rear fender rolled??

There was one in the NICO booth at the Phoenix nationals... Check the home page for the article and pic galleries...

Is it this one? I didn't check the article but found a pic.

What the hell happens if you drive over a......whatever, not just a pothole.

I could never do that, I like my meat. Plus, aesthetically it looks unbalanced.

Yeah, according to the owner it rolls on 20" except for at shows.

Apparently, many said it "couldn't be done", so the lady that owns it (who did ALL her own work) proved them wrong.

Gotta give props to that.

No My 20x9 and 20x10 didn't rub. The Rears were Close but with 285/30 I can say the Rubber nobbies on the tires would touch the rear fenders but the tire itself was 2mm away from rubbing.

I think if the F50 didn't have some negative camber in the rear, it would have rubbed forsure.
