Everytime I hear some jerk tell me "you need to listen to REAL hiphop" the hemorrhoids in my hiny bleed ever so more.
Listen kid....before you get your Kriss Kross panties in a twist...IF you knew how to read and comprehend you'd probably understand that my tirade was aimed at rap. See the way I see it, there's rap and then there's hiphop. Rap is bling bling, rap is shameless plugs, rap is superficial, rap is "it's me against the world, the world is ****ed whiny bull****." It's about grown men who whine about the world being such a horrible place but yet on the same album boast about unloading banana clips in some helpless fool, smackin *****es and diggin the back out on some hoes. It's nothing more than grown men *****ing about a world they seemingly have no part in degrading but yet they're hear to reap the rewards. Rap is uptight with almost no real musical value. It's repetitive BS wrapped around looped beats and the American public is eating it up like hot cakes. C'mon man, you just listen to rap cuz you wanna 'look cool.' (even though you're probably blasting Conrad Twitty or Lionel Richie's greatest hits) Hehe, rockefella and aftermath is sending us all to hell in a handbasket and YOU'RE too dumb to realize it.
Now as for hiphop, these are the 'underground' lyric masters like talib kwali, Mos Def (and underrated actor by the way), common, etc. About how much of the rap market do you think these guys make up?
