Rock all the way, I also enjoy some techno while cruising and other random things. That song in the opening sequence to "Bad Boys" is sweet.

Comfort music... I hate to admit it but I get comfort from listening to Whitney Houston.

bah, metal. It good to see there is a difference in hip hop and Rap. Im a huge hip hop fan. Most of the groups i listen to are underappreciated and unknown. My personal favorites are Public Enemy, The Pharcyde, A tribe called quest, The heiroglyphics, and Swollen members (heh). like jesda i also have a guilty pleasure, salt n pepa and nelly fertado.

Buckethead. great music. Yes it is the same guy who filled in for slash on mtvs "reunited" Guns and roses , but he probably only did that because he can play slash's music easily. Buckethead plays instrumental music thats really technical to play. If you get the chance download some, like Binge and Grab,Nun Chuka Kata, spidercrawl, or machete.

Had to vote for hip hop as Ive recently run into a cpl of artists that re-showed the spirit of hip hop for me.

CunninLynguists last two albums are great, and I can relate to alot of the issues thoughts feelings and the likes. Another good one is Lifesavas, but a bit more nutty and just as flowy lyrically.

Its been so long since I heard some decent ****, I forgot it wasnt all about being gangsta and having the blingage. I was listening to the early to mid 90's stuff, as the new stuff I heard previous to this sucked.

Rap is cRap. I used to listen to rap but today it's nothing more than corporate music targeted at the denizens of American society ie WWE-watching, identity crisis-stricken trailer park trash. Oh yeah, David Matthews has the worst voice in the music industry so DMB can suck off.

blinkor, if you like that stuff you oughta check out Sunny Day Real Estate. Their first albums were the best and the last one was just plain good. :D

Calling people trailor trash, how inventive. wait wait, you also said something catchy " rap is crap" omg you blew my mind on that one. anyways youwhere listening to horrible commercial rap. before you diss an entire genre because its directed at a certain demographic you should probably listen to decent hip hop/rap. and btw all music is aimed at a demographic

Yeah, Get up kids are rad... i really liked their newest album.

I've listened to a little bit of sunny day real estate, but i'm not exactly sure what are their best songs because i've never been exposed to it... they're one of those bands none of my friends listen to, ya know?

Everytime I hear some jerk tell me "you need to listen to REAL hiphop" the hemorrhoids in my hiny bleed ever so more.

Listen kid....before you get your Kriss Kross panties in a twist...IF you knew how to read and comprehend you'd probably understand that my tirade was aimed at rap. See the way I see it, there's rap and then there's hiphop. Rap is bling bling, rap is shameless plugs, rap is superficial, rap is "it's me against the world, the world is ****ed whiny bull****." It's about grown men who whine about the world being such a horrible place but yet on the same album boast about unloading banana clips in some helpless fool, smackin *****es and diggin the back out on some hoes. It's nothing more than grown men *****ing about a world they seemingly have no part in degrading but yet they're hear to reap the rewards. Rap is uptight with almost no real musical value. It's repetitive BS wrapped around looped beats and the American public is eating it up like hot cakes. C'mon man, you just listen to rap cuz you wanna 'look cool.' (even though you're probably blasting Conrad Twitty or Lionel Richie's greatest hits) Hehe, rockefella and aftermath is sending us all to hell in a handbasket and YOU'RE too dumb to realize it.

Now as for hiphop, these are the 'underground' lyric masters like talib kwali, Mos Def (and underrated actor by the way), common, etc. About how much of the rap market do you think these guys make up?

So master of the way, how do you feel about artists like Aceyalone, Cunninlynguists, Lifesavas (current three in my rotations for the past week +) and the likes, like I mentioned?

Rap / crap / hip-hop / garbage?

BTW I agree with alot of what you said about the so called mainstream rap... Its a shame when good artists get a few good hits and deviate from their roots to fill their own pockets by putting out meaningless bull****.

too funny coming from the person who describes himself as a 'full time pimp' in his profile.

lets stop the nipple twisting and get back to the poll.
