i was wondering whats a good stand alone ecu for the sr. im going fully built motor. i would like to be able to run a dual setup. like a daily driver mode to get good gas mileage for when i travel with it and then a race mode that i can just switch it in to with ease. if they make something like that. thanks

any good standalone system should have dual boost fuel and ign mapping, that can be switched with a normal switch, I just finished building a, EJ25Et powered Legacy with a Link standalone setup, and we set up high/low boost to be switched with the AC button. If you are planning to go standalone, you should know that there is a huge amout of tunning involved, and its not somthing I would recomend doing for the first time by yourself. If you search I think there are some good threads on Nico about Standalones

a lot of people seem to prefer the Apex Power FC since its menus are so easy to use. I like the HKS F-CON since the increments of tuning are very fine (50 RPM increments).

The link G2 Im tuning right now is nice as far as increments go, they are completely adjustable, I set up a base map using reletively large increments, 500 RPM increments, but now as Im tuning it closer to the line Im cutting it in half for more finite control.

Id recommend AEM EMS for plug and play or Haltech. Both are tunable via Laptop where the PFC is not unless you have the software. I think same goes for the HKS F Con. PFC also has only one fuel and ignition map so tuning for race gas sucks if you constantly switch between it and street gas.

"Power FC" or "AEM EMS" and if you have a big wallet go for "Autronic"
