Wear down? I used to have some on my truck with a 351w and they never wore down on me, I just got some Thrush Mufflers for cheap so swapped them out. Or do you mean like there gonna annoy me to death? Your setup sounds like, wish i could do that but to pass inspection i gotta have cats n the pipe out the back arrgghhh

Wear out as in your ears.

I suppose leaving the cats and making the exhaust exit the rear would make it a little quieter with very little HP loss compared to what I have.

Update, I scored a set of stock 300ZX exhaust manifolds lastnite off craigslist, they exit 1/4 inch larger and in a different place, they will not fit without cutting them up, flipping /reversing left to right , if not they hit the oil filter, dipstick, motor mounts, etc...
