9/10 Very happy with my G!!

+1 for more power- Wish the Bose unit was better (played MP3's for 03 and 04 and had an AUX button)- Lighter total weight- HIDs were brighter

Most of these issues can be solved pretty easy BTW.

I'll give it a 9.5

I wish the Bluetooth had an incoming Caller ID display on the dash & my Sirius scrolled station ID, song title and artist.

IMHO it has enough power. I regularly beat out Chevy Vegas, Ford Pinto's, and an occasional AMC Gremlin.

I'd give it an 8.5! A few knick knacks that can be fixed with after market parts... but hey, can't have it all right?

I love the car, but...

The paint chipping is a huge issue for me as it allows the body panels to rust faster than normal due to open metal and for only having 12,000 miles on mine with the amount of chips and scratches, its really annoying maintenance that shouldn't need to be performed at this point (otherwise this would be an easy 8 or 9 for me). The CD player on the 07 coupes and below don't scroll text and the screen gets washed out in the sun. It could use more power, but I'd really like to see more torque. Don't have the Bose because Bose car audio sucks, always has. The regular OEM system sounds pretty darn good if you ask me and music always has to sound good to me; I've had several ask if its aftermarket. Lights are good. Engine/exhaust sound is good. Overall performance is good. Also could use a cabin lights on option on the dimmer switch, I've had that on every other car I've owned and its useful at night when you or someone drops something. Speaking of dropping something, if you drop something between the seat and center console, chances are you won't see it again until you take the seat out.

I wish it was 100-200 kgs lighter, which would increase power a good 15-20% I'd imagine.

I'll just wait for a 370GT

an 08 G35 sedan 6MT weighs in at 1605.45 kgs, an 08 350Z track weighs in at 1480.00 kgs, so really the Z should be alot quicker, considering they have exactly the same output.

I didn't have time to elaborate my 8/10....for my 2005 G35 coupe 6MT.

1. As I mentioned, power. This is the biggest fault with the car IMO. They should have at least had other trims available with higher HP (400+ would be a nice option). This is 1 full point.

2. Interior issues 1: Amber lights get old after a while, seat belt design is terrible, no memory seats, seat control placement hurts your leg after an hour or so, no seat AC. .25 points

3. Interior issues 2: Bose HU is a letdown, stereo lacks bass output, various rattles, strange shifter feedback. .25 points

4. Other: Clutch problems (sticks to floor, small engagement area, noisy), front bumper chips WAY too easily, tire feathering, OEM tires don't last, fog lights are sub-par. .5 points

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my G!! I just grade hard...I expect more from a 40k dollar vehicle. The 03-07 coupe styling is timeless. This car was a compromise for me due to the fact that it has a backseat. (I was considering a Z06 vette at the time). With all that being said, the G is the best car I've owned so far!

Thanks for all of the replies, guys. I'm taking all of this into consideration for buying my own G.

Everything looks good so far

Question though - when you refer to the Amber/Orange lighting, is that the interior overhead light? Seems like an easy fix, if that's the case.

Nope...instrument cluster and AC controls. They made a huge change in the redesign in which you could select which color (07 sedan, 08 coupe). Lots of gripes were fixed...though they changed the look of the car, which not everyone likes.

Hm, how unfortunate. I'm actually on my way to a local Infiniti dealer to experience the G35. We'll see how I feel about all of this when I get back!

Creaky interior, paint chips easily, ****ty sound system, poorly designed HIDs, needs more low end torque...

What bothers me the most is the ****ty seats!

Back from the test drive - overall I really like the car! I do feel everyone on the orange lighting thing, maybe you get used to it??

I honestly only really have my truck to compare the power to, and (from the little I've seen) I really like what the G offers. I didn't see any problems with the seats, though it was only like 20 minutes.

I really liked the fact that everything is power - can't tell you how sick I am of rolling down my window with my hand! I know it all adds weight, but I doubt I'll be at the track anytime soon heh. The iPod thing has me confused a little - what connection do they offer as of now? That was one thing I forgot to check into.

Thanks for all the opinions - more feedback would still be appreciated!

the 2007 is gorgeous inside and out... the blue dash lights are awesome but here's the thing... the GPS sometimes spazzes out and takes you on a weird route, but that's not the thing... i'm a bit frustrated with the lack of scrolling when song titles and artist names are too long to display. This is especially annoying when listening to XM Radio.

I've also experienced interior noise from the interior roof upholstery not being fastened properly to the metal part... this is burdensome when hitting speed bumps or pot holes... when going quick on the highway and blasting music, it's not an issue.

The heated seats take way too long to warm up. the BMW seats are hot in less than a minute... my G35 takes like 5.

The horsepower is nice... takes turns like a dream, super comfortable seating/positioning inside the car... everything adjusts except the pedals. The Bose sound system rocks.

Overall, this car has everything i wanted in a new car (my first).I would recommend it to anyone that has style and wants to have a little fun with their car.

Overall i say 8.5/10

I have an 07 g35 coupe with nav, aero, prem package, sport tuned suspension with 19" rims

- Definetly needs more horsepower, no reason why automatic cant have close the manual transmission

- Bose audio is good, not as good as my wife's mark levinson sound system but i'm happy, could use more bass though....

- Love the 19" rims and sport tuned suspension, eats up the corners plus the bridgestone potenzas are way better than michelin pilots

- Love the sound coming from the exhaust when i take off

Only the paint I think should be better. Hopefully the selfhealing paint will resolve the issue. Hopefuly the G will get it in 09 or so.

I think for the money you get more horses and torque then the others in its class. Need more hp need to pay for it.

I think i read above that you didnt like the fact that the radio display doesnt scroll the station name......well it does ! not exactly sure what button it is (not looking at inside of car at the moment) but one of the bottom lower right buttons does the trick, it will roll radio station, name of song, and album.....after pushing the middle button i think, allow it so "think" for a moment, and then it will roll the info you are looking for. I have a 04 G35 coupe

You're right I did. But that's not really scrolling the text...that's like telling your 3 year old to turn the page.

You have to push the Disp button to "scroll" the text or hold it to switch what it displays (album title, folder title, song title, file name, and whatever else). Scrolling text = marquee style text, not turning the page. Unless you you have found an age-old secret, that's not scrolling text.
