What features/options would you like to see made available in the next Q70?

Or is there an option/feature that was removed and you would like to see it brought back? :yesnod

I'm in a loaner Q70S AWD right now and they've removed the suede headliner and replaced it with a mesh type material (or maybe it's because it's sport?) the stitching"Infiniti" has been removed from the seats. I can't double press the start button on a running car to have it continue to power the radio while the car engine shuts off. Rear sunshade that goes down in reverse but doesn't come up when you go back into drive is a huge annoyance too. Car has auto trunk closer but nothing for the doors. That makes no sense. Infiniti's cost cutting measures make me scratch my head.

- Tilting headrests! Loved them on my 07.
- Aux input. My M is quite loaded and I only have an iPod/USB plug. Bluetooth for music sucks (small lag) as does USB (long startup lag)...aux fixes both of those problems although it creates another one (no steering wheel controls for aux input I'm assuming?)
- Didn't know they got rid of the suede headliner but if they did indeed, bring that back. It's sexy lol and people actually notice it (how often do people notice a freakin headliner? lol).

1. I miss the independent sliding middle arm rest console top from my '06 M45
2. The second smaller sunshade for the front windshield, when you're using the main one to block glare from the side (again, had that on my M45!! :wtf2: )
3. Heads up display for speedo/tach and navigation

The sunshade will slide or extend (My wife brought that to my attention, she has the same type on the Rogue)

  • VR30DDTT
  • Completely revamped audio system - more fine tune control, more wattage, more bass
  • HD Radio + newer Bluetooth protocols (reduces lag significantly and slightly improves audio quality)
  • Improved transmission logic (or better transmission --- DCT???)
  • Updated MFD user interface (nav, settings, etc.)
Honestly my M has really grown on me since I bought it in a pinch a few months back. I really am loving Infiniti these days and continue to eyeball the Q50 and Q70. I prefer large sedans so the Q50 is out. The Q70 is on my watch list, however for not much more (fully loaded Q70), I can get a new Tesla Model S, not to mention their very low miles and well discounted CPOs. And with a Tesla charging station only 5 minutes from my house, at a grocery store I use, next to a Chipotle that I frequent, on the way to work (only 10 mile drive twice a week), Teslas are the other big thing on my watch list for a future purchase...

I myself will be considering a Tesla or a new M in 3-4 years when I'm done with this car.

I love my car too.

Armed Aviator, the Bluetooth in the 2016 Q70S AWD that I have is much better than my M. There are no hiccups with the audio using Bluetooth and very little delay when switching songs and having it displayed on the screen. I wonder if it's a new Bluetooth chip or if it's updated programming of the code. Either way, that problem is fixed.

It's pretty cool that they offer the long wheelbase, thus admitting that even this performance-luxo has potential to offer comfort for its passengers. While at it, it wouldn't hurt if they toss in rear DVD screens, the reclining rear seats with at least heated seats (cooled ones will be a bonus) and side shades. Ya know, like the older flagship q45, M45/M35 as well as some competitors? Again, adjustable suspension - c'mon flagship sedan!

Bingo..sometimes it is those little things that sway you. Because I had the rear power shade in a previously owned Maxima, I looked for the option in the current M I have now.

I would love the Q50 type steering wheel 3 spoke design. Just has a nice sporty look to it. I love the current interior but also the gauge cluster needs a color center display like the Q50 as well the Songs, Navi etc all show in it looks really nice and usefull I think. I would also like the interior lights to come led from the factory it is 2016.

Not sure about the Q70S, but the Q70L loaner I drove while I was having my timing chains replaced had the rear door closers as well as the trunk closer.

1) continue the rear windscreen shade, but add rear door shades as well. Even Hyundai does that !
2) put the logo back on the seats - front AND rear
3) on the L models, add more than cup holders in the arm rest - at lest recliners. Air con controls, USB and power outlets
4) bring back the front visors with the extra mini-visor under them
5) bring back the individual arm rests for the front passengers
6) do NOT make cup-holders part of the front console like the Q50 - leave them under a door like a real sedan
7) continue the plain wood veneer instead of that god-awful silver ash rubbish
8) lose the engine size badges half way up the front fenders - tacky
9) make the NAV screen larger and give it the double-view so passengers can see one thing whilst the driver sees something else. (like the Jags )
10) add a true ground effects kit with a rear diffuser, etc.
11) adjustable head rests - front AND rear
12) really thick carpeting - not the rubbish stuff thats the same as any economy car
13) WiFi hot spot
14) diesel engine options like the M30d in Europe has had for years with a 40-50 mpg return

and ....... most important ......... make a bloody panoramic roof like the rest of the car makers have done for years !

In short, make the $65,000 sedan worth spending &65,000 !

I believe the twin turbo is the future. I believe the v6 will eventually be phased out.

Point 1 is spot on Hyundai does do that!!

Also the 2009 Maxima I traded in had the big sunroof in the front and the non opening roof for the rear passenger.

Yeah I'm with you on the TT engine. I bet that does happen with the new VR30 3.0 engine Infiniti is dropping in the Q50's. I however couldnt disagree more about the look of the newer Q70's. The evil eye aggressive front end and great booty make the Q70 a stunner in my opinion (I may be a little biased ). They made an already great looking car even better. No doubt you can see the lineage between the Q50 and Q70, but I don't see it as a stretched out Q50. The Q70L on the other hand looks a little off to me.

Make a TRUE "S" model (think Jaguar) with forced induction either turbo or super, a real sport suspension and a man pedal option. Slapping a "S" badge on a car for a few minor tweaks that don't make it faster than the stock version really grinds my gears.

Or reserve the "S" badge for V8 version only with additional performance enhancements.

I think the Q50 is going this direction with the Red Sport having 100 more horses than the normal Q50S.

I must admit that power & handling & styling of this car are excellent. No changes please.
It's just a few little things that would be so nice.

Body:
1 Fold down rear seats
2 trunk pops WIDE open, by itself
3 rear windows retract FULLY into door (for small dogs)
4 phone cradle on LHS of NAV
6 block heater in USA car
7 no sharp edges on steering wheel, and esp. want wider gaps for hands at 8 & 4 o'clock positions
8 natural looking plain wood veneer, not fake-looking silver ash painted finish
9 less shifting lag on transmission
10 IP color choice for LED (blue, purple, etc)

NAV:
1 standard HDD for ANY and ALL media (music, PDF, apps, owner & service manuals)
2 PDF viewer for owner & service manuals (or user apps that do this)
3 User apps (eg, Waze, Weather, etc)
4 volume finer control (cuz 1 click currently goes from too-quiet to too-loud)
5 no stupid INPUT lockout while driving (eg, Why can't passenger enter GPS address while I drive?)
6 OBD-II scanner on NAV (eg, codes, live data, etc)
7 more user-settings (eg, door locks)
8 AUX 3.5mm stereo input for my other audio inputs
9 4x larger NAV screen (eg, Tesla)
10 Mirroring of iphone screen on NAV display

Other:
1 user-dimmable (eg, dial) tinted windows all around (except front windshield)
2 self-driving

I don't understand how the Maxima (which I love), have a panoramic roof yet the M/Q series does not. It would be great to
see a floating roof on the 17 Q70. Also it would be great to have more amenities for the rear cabin since the L addition. Only makes sense.

Yeah what gives? I think it is a neat option. keeps the cabin very comfortable and you don't get this constant blast of cold air in your face or to your body.

True as far as performance but I disagree with you as far as the other options being just minor tweaks.
No more production V8's after 2017. "Think Red Sport option"
Just bought my daughter a 2016 Q50S AWD with 3.0L twin turbo (non red sport) It's a nice motor and fast!

As far as a few more things they could change / add:

Front seat thigh extenders (loved this option on my G37S).
Get rid of Bose - The system in my wife's 2016 Volvo XC90 puts ours to shame.........
Addition of cross drilled rotors to the Sport model.
Automatic power fold mirrors when you lock the car.
