As a relative "N00b" to this board (though not to others) I certainly understand the frustration with people who have 1 post hopping in and asking "Hey y0, can I put a SR in my 'Teg?". I'm sure these same types of people also ask "Hey, can I put a turbo eclipse motor in my Civic? That'd be mad phat, y0."
But I think far too many genuinely curious '240'ers' get piled in with these "trend hoppers."
I'm not going to lie. I saw the SCC article on the "Silvia" and I immediately started hunting for a 240. I bought a 1991 coupe and I have every intention of putting an SR20DET engine in it. (And yes, a Silvia front end conversion, too.)
But not because it's trendy, or because I want to be different like everyone else. Because it's a nice engine with loads of potential. I wanted a project, and this one seem to jump out at me.
But just because I'm new to Nissans doesn't mean I'm one of the mongoloid teeming masses. And I think everyone should be given an opportunity to prove themselves before being judged. Just my $.02, for what it's worth.
Nico, however, rocks. I love this place. :ylsuper
